This should be pretty simple, We won both our games and Tullamarine didn't. We should have the right but for some reason I reckon we will again be wearing our clash jumper. Does anyone know ?

I thought we were going to wear the clash strip in each game, like we do in most/all pre-season comps.

Pretty sure the clash strip is also our NAB cup/challenge strip.

It means we have to see more of it but it also means more exposure and therefore more $$$ in jumper sales. It's a necessary sacrifice I think.

Will the Umpires be wearing the Red Shirt & Black Shorts (NAB Colours) i wonder???

wouldn't suprise me....

that goes without saying surely.... put your house on it !!

HaHaHa! Yes let's check the Betfair odds....It is only the practise matches so i am not going to get fired up about the Clash strips yet.

BUT I WILL!!! Last weeks game with Essendon & St.k was just outrageous as far as this on going debate goes.

The AFL have no strategy with this issue.

After thsoe games there really isnt a debate any more..Its a total farce. Any words from Fortress-Vlad must simply be allowed to run down the drain,

Clash jumpers must be white.. but jumpers are black,,,, or blue or a handful of other colours but we cant have red...but...but....but.

Were just wasting our breath

Personally i would like to send "Rampaging" Roy Slaven down to see Vlad & co.

Roy would sort them out within minutes, wouldn't hear another peep out of 'em all season (until Brownlow Night!!)

If that is the case (and I vaguely now recall this might be the case), then my opinions held within the Demons v Bombers thread on this very issue shall be superseded.

I remember reading somewhere when I was trying to find out what was going on with the pink yolk that we would be wearing the clash strip for the NAB cup. I guess they're trying to get us used to it as quickly as possible.

I also vaguely recall the AFL last year requiring Essendon to produce a clash jumper for the 2011 season (that wasn't the widened sash). Haven't seen a clash jumper yet, nor heard a peep out of the AFL. If they get away with out having one for another season then the AFL is a farce.

I really really like our new clash strip.

I'd be happy to play in it for the remainder of the NAB cup.

Whilst I'd be happy for the club to wear it based on using it as a 'pre-season uniform' (if that has been stated in the past), I'm wary that if you give'em an inch they'll take a yard.

Clash strip to be worn all our NAB campaign.

Clashing strip worn by Umps all NAB comp !!

Stupid is as stupid does !! Lifes like an AFL box of chocolates... Theyre all hard centres and some mongrel's already sucked the chocolate off !! Dudded again

Surely for Essendon it's quite easy to just reverse the colours?

Doesn't look great, but no clash jumper does.

It's good enough.

I agree, but I'm sure I read somewhere that in the requirements of a clash strip there has to be an large amount of white?? Could be wrong

It's the NAB Cup...

Save your ire for the real stuff.

I'm not fussed at all to be wearing the clash strip. I am that the AFL can't see or rather care about the clashing umpy strip.

Has turned anything they (Vladland) say in this regard to a nonsense.that is all

I've thought the same for a while - for all teams. Makes it a lot easier and gets rid of all the stupid white jumpers! Fair enough for the likes of sydney, freo, carlton, collingwood etc where their secondary colour is white, but would like to see our away strip being red again. Anyway, all been done to death already!

You are right Demonator done to death and I don,t mind the latest white away strip.

You never know it might be red one day and not pink.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
