Andrew Walker is a Must!

Sorry to bring up another Warnock forum, but I can't stop thinking about the possibility of trading Warnock and possibly a late pick to Carlton for Andrew Walker. Although Walker has been injury prone the last couple years, I think he would be a valuable inclusion to the dees lineup. It would allow for Grimes to play more of a midfield role while Walker holds down an attacking half back flanker position.

I completely understand and agree with the fact that Warnock adds depth to our backline, but if for whatever reason one of Frawley, Rivers or Garland were to go down with an injury, Walker could easily hold down the 3rd biggest forward.

Thoughts?

Sorry to rain on the parade...

"He also said defender Matthew Warnock was a required player and not available for trade."

That's just posturing.

He's saying "if you want him, you'll have to really pay to get him."

which is fair enough

I've only heard TH say that he is a required player in a different tone. Haven't heard the words "isn't/not available for trade"...maybe the journo had - but it's definitely not a quote by my reckoning.

Definitely means that we are not looking to offload him but if a club wants to pay over the top, we are interested...

Think he would be a very hand pick up! If fit would certainly fit into our best 22!

You claim that it will free up Grimes, but why do that. It is well known that we attack from the half back line. Grimes is absolute quality and along with Chip sets up the greater percentage of our attacks. Why take him out when he is so damaging? He just needs to clear up some of his turnovers (which because he is in the backline, can be really costly), but he has only played 26 games. There is a tonne of development and improvement left in him :o , it's scary what he could become. Keep him where he will be most dangerous.

I heard Walker was diagnosed with a very serious condition than restricts him from reaching his full potential. It was revealed that Walker is in fact made from glass..........

Has all the skills in the world, but cannot and will not ever play 22 games again.

Hardly a "must" player. Carlton will also charge more than he is worth.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
