Initially I think No.

He could be ok if he loses a lot of weight, because his mobility isn't flash.

He could possibly be acquired cheap though, because he is steadily heading towards the outer at the doggies, with Roughead and Cordy to both come into he side, and Hudson with more seasons in him.

Thoughts?

A better option than Jack bloody Anthony or Mitch Clark imho.

Give me Mitch Clark blind folded before you give me Will donkey Minson

gives away far too many free kicks for mine. crude tackler who doesn't sem to learn from mistakes.

a great bloke though, will is infact a huge jazz fan which has meant some very interesting music has been played at the new western oval gym!!

Will be surplus to requirements at Whitten oval, as they look to get more games into Roughead, and Cordy. For mine he is sorely lacking in footy smarts, despite apparently being quite cluey off the field. Far too often he seems more intersted in hurting someone in a tackle than winning a free kick..... Sam Jacobs is a better player than Will Minson.

I know that Adelaide is his preference, but surely Melbourne would look to have a crack at Jacobs before focusing their attention on Minson,

If i was compiling a list of the worst players in the afl who play on a semi-regular/regular basis, Will Minson would slip nicely into my top 20 (above Paul Johnson)

Some people rate Paul Johnson way too highly.

I'd take Minson over him.

Clark wouldn't be much better, but would cost a hell of a lot more.

I don't rate him highly at all, but he's better than Minson in skills alone.

You've actually picked the player i would rate... almost the worst in the AFL

will minson's attitude is not great, hence why he is in and out of the dogs team. definetly do not need him at our club with his attitude.

there is no way he is better than mitch clark but mark blake maybe!

Besides .. Minson will be pushed down the pecking order even more when the Doggies get their next f/s selection (thats right .. ANOTHER one!) Zaine Cordy (brother of Ayce) comes through the ranks in 3-4 years time (counting chickens much?).

In addition to Zaine they have Mark Hunter's son to look forward to in a couple of years also.

I think Minson is a terrible footballer. He is everything the doggies need in concept, but he doesn't actually do any of it. Drops marks, doesn't like contact (well, likes initiating it badly, but not a good receiver), doesn't ruck, immobile... I would rather persevere with Stef Martin. Big pass from me.

I will change clubs if we pick up Will MINSON.

NO WAY!

Tom Hawkins, Jesse White, Rhys Stanley yes...

If Johnson were delisted I would be alot more comfortable with Minson as a back-up than relying on Spencer.

I think you should stick to your initial thought- NO.....

You bag PJ all the time- however I well and truthfully prefer him to Minson.Just once again WE see your judgement..I agree with TATU - we digging for GOLD not dirt..

There's also stuff all chance of getting Jacobs. There's no doubting Carlton have plenty of promise up their sleeve with regards to rucks, but they will not be letting Jacobs go without requiring the counterparty to cough up a left testicle. Let's try and be a little bit realistic.

I'm not that interested in Minson but at least E25 has named a trade-in that might actually be plausible.

Off topic slightly - excuse me but Zaine and Ayce??? And I suppose they have a sister named GaGa or Brittany too? Whatever happened to good old fashioned names like, say Neil and Brian for example?

Back on topic - Minson? Not for me. Is a man mountain but just doesn't do enough. Insert Tarzan and Jane analogy here. As others have pointed out he is also terribly accident prone. Too much downside, not enough up. Pass.

I cannot believe someone would start a thread on this guy

He has no idea and from his body language i doubt he is the learning type

VFL level player at best

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
