Has Watts signed?

DemonSG

Recommended Posts

Just watch Jack after every single win, he gets out to as many Melbourne supporters as he can, chats to them, hugs the women and high fives the kids... Now he is either the biggest fake in the world, or he loves his club and loves his fans (as his fans love him).

Look at all the examples, almost everytime a Demons player kicks a goal Watts is the first one at them for the high five, everytime he gets a goal he gets pumped up, everytime he kicks a goal he gets a massive cheer...

Melbourne fans have a tendency to clap off players, alot.

I sit right behind the bench in the MCC every week and no one gets a bigger cheer than Watts.

You can see it in his eyes, he genuinely does seem to love his fans.

One of the only players ive seen acknowledge the fans.

I guess what im saying is..... he isn't leaving.

In fact, I will place a bet of $1000 that he is still at Melbourne next season, if your interested?

Sums it up perfectly,

His player manager would be giving him advice on what to do...

Probably along the lines of, focus on your football Jack and we will look after that at the end of the season.

Watts has not re-signed yet and neither have the following players:

M. Warnock

C. Bruce

N. Jones

M. Bate

B. Miller

P. Johnson

D. Bell

B. Moloney

J. McDonald

R. Bail

S. Blease

J. Strauss

T. McNamara

Just because a player has not re-signed does not mean they are 'holding out' or going to GC. It just means they haven't re-signed yet. The Club can't re-sign every player at once. But do we have to be quite so paranoid about them all going to GC??? Are we going to have a thread about every one of these players until they sign on?? Remember there is only a 50% chance that just 1 of these players will go to GC. Even less if you believe the rumours that Ablett, Brown, Harbrow & Bock are all GC bound that makes it even less likely one of our boys will be poached.

Based on that list, with the exception of Watts and possibly Blease I wouldn't be terribly upset if any of those players went to GC anyway. The rest are completely replaceable. (This is also based on the assumption that neither McDonald nor Moloney would ever go to GC)

dang it nasher i was about to comment on jnr and beamer. Jones won't go out of that list either he loves the club going by his twitter, in fact having a lot to do with the clubs website as well at the moment.

Watts will sign, though what i think is we should put a "till end of career" contract in front of sylvia right now, by the looks of his performance in the song he is the most excited. :D You got to love that one of our better players (and the one with the most sheer skill imo) is the most excited :D

Haha, yeah its good to remember that Slyvia is only 24 and had plenty of great footy left! I feel he is the kind of guy who could be very influential in a grand final and would love him to be demon for life...is a bit of a late-ish bloomer but certainly seems on track to become a much better player than Mclean ever is/was...

Remember how well a 'til end of career' contract worked out for Carlton with Koutoufides?? We've taken big risks with Flash & Chip signing them up for unusually long periods, we'd want to limit our exposure to those kinds of contracts. 2-3 year deals work just fine.

i just love the way he plays, look don't get me wrong i think he will be a 1 club player but with these days of GC and West Syd its got me nervous lol

Wow. Some of this thread reminds me of the 'dark days' circa 2008, when people were taking every chance they could get to say 'Well I never really loved him anyway' about players they were frightened would leave., or Judd, or R. Warnock, or more recently Ball.

Take a deep breath, touch the little scar near your heart that we all have from that time.

Right now all this talk is just bashing on the doors of a moving train.

I would be extremely upset if Bail left.

Make no mistake, he is a "hard as nails', quality B+/A grader. Something we need in spades.

Jack Watts will certainly be at the Dees for many a year. He will play over 200 games with us.

Imagine the look on Jack's face if he was actually happy to be involved with the MFC!!

BTW, nice image gallery from the Swans game here

Is it Catwoman? Did Bailey just smile? No! Jack and Clint take their first look at the 'house that Guy bought' and think of the fun times ahead!

Jack will stay, he like all the MFC players know where the club is going in the coming years. MFC showed what they can and will be. Exciting tears ahead.

Jacks performance against the Swans showed more of what he has, VERY quick (that chase on Jetta), strength, there was a play where he held back 2 Swans player while he dived in for his 2nd effort. He is getting better and better as he gets more games under his belt. I just hope he signs a 3-4 year contract.

Why do people think players will stay because they think MFC will be a winning team? Not every player is motivated by success, some are playing for the money. Just look at Chris Judd. Every player has their price.

the "drug culture" was eventually going to catch up to WCE, Judd just left before it did.

Pointless topic.

I'd be more worried about a martian coming down and performing a lobotomy through DemonSG's rectum than Watts going anywhere.

Move on.

I think you'll find he wanted to go home, but out of the club's in melb, money influenced his decision.

You're clutching at straws.

As usual.

Now now SG. I never said Watts couldn't leave.

What i actually said was i had no fear of it.

I do however fear that those martians have in fact performed that anal lobotomy on you. Your reading and comprehension has clearly suffered.

Bye.

then move on

Handy advice for this thread to disappear into the abyss.

Aren't you one of the "two" that moved on after your disgust of a post earlier in the year, that was in fact removed ?

Good to see you back in the fold anyway after your 'vent' of frustration. Btw the answer - which has already been given - is in fact no, not yet.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
