Yellow maggots and those 3 were all average in the last quarter, but the 19 besides PJ, Scully and Bennell who played in the first half were the guys who cost us the game.

No, no and no. It was our unbelieveablely [censored] poor first half.................... and Cameron Bruce

Lay of Watts. He is only a kid learning the game. Look how well Nick Reiwoldt is going in the seniors after returning from injury (and he is a superstar). Main offenders were our senior players in Bruce, Bate and Moloney (noting he was injured early on).

Bruce, Bate and...one of Bruce and Bate

What happened to Moloney?

What happened to Moloney?

Suffered a corked thigh and THAT'S what cost us the game...

He is just terrible, a liability, he did nothing of any use for us today and he rarely does in any game.

Bate and Dunn. Watts is a kid who showed us a bit of what is instore for us in the future, as he learns the game at this level.

No-one on our side cost us the game. Bruce's first half was diabolical but was ok after that. Bate was ok... not nearly as bad as people will make out. And despite a few poor choices and some bad kicking, I thought that was one of Watts' better outings.

Umpires are an embarrassment to the game and have cost us at least 3 wins this season.

We got ALL our good umpiring luck last week.

Sorry to disappoint you, but you can't pick and choose 3 players to blame the loss on.

We lost because we didn't play football in the first half. For that, I put the blame on the senior leaders of this club, who disappoint us season after season for their inability to perform consistently and put up with the pressure of the game.

What amazes me is that we can rely on Scully, McKenzie, Frawley, Garland etc to put in the effort week in week out, but guys like Bruce, Bate, Rivers, Moloney, Sylvia and Davey can pick and choose when they feel like going hard at the ball. Even Green had a terrible first half.

So how can you put the blame on someone like Watts, who in his 10th game worked extremely hard to get us into a winning position. These players are not meant to be winning us games, but sadly things won't change until they are leading this club.

Watt game were you watching FFS?

This kid was supposed to be the next Wayne Carey not the the Next Jim Carey = muppet.

Trade the mummy's boy and see if the GC17 want to part with some loose coin.

Brent Grgic in disguise.

I don't even think that a double facepalm photo can do justice to how dumb this post is!

Come on people the whole team cost us the game in the first half we were pathetic but too the 22 blokes credit they fought back well and all made crucial blunders at times but give them all credit for the fight back!

I'm as one-eyed as the rest of us on here, but to blame the umpires for today's game is stupidity. I thought they were fair, and in that 3rd quarter, we got our fair share of gifts.

The first half was a disgrace, probably the worst we've played all year? Bruce was woeful, but so was Sylvia, Green, Davey. The problem is the lack of leadership.

I'm also not sure about the Dunn bashing - he and Frawley worked Pav over didn't they? When Pav was forward, Chip killed him, then when Pav went in the middle, I thought Dunn tagged him well. I will stand corrected if Dunn wasn't on Pav.

3 guys that cost us the game...

1. Bruce

2. Bate

3. Davey (2 ordinary 50m penalties that hurt us, they REALLY HURT US).

Green for next MFC captain.

FWIW - I think we really missed Trengove today. Big call for a bloke playing his first season.

A couple of ordinary decisions by the umps who seemed blind sided all day.

Crowley and Pavlich's magnificent diving efforts - revisit the game and have a look at all that acting!

The crowd unnerved the young fellas somewhat.

Clumsy tackling (falling onto the back of diving, fainting footballers)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
