I thought it was a great game. That coverage went all over the world, & the MFC stood up on the big stage.

The team will learn heaps from that game, At the moment we match top sides sporadically.

Soon we will dictate weekly. Great to see some Flash Magic today.

I was proud of the team today.

Our Queens Birthday game is alive and very well.

Top turnout from the Demon Army today.

Take a bow. Our kids stood up-Jamar Beamer Green all Great.

That was september pressure today.

All what you say is true but you know what!

WE DID NOT WIN

And at the end of the day that is all that matters.

We will never be a force while we except anything less than a win.

They did however play with a lot more fire than last week.

Dunn in the forward line is a good move and while he did not kick a bag he fought it out every time it came near him.

No easy kicks when you play on him.

I have been a big critic but Jack earned his spot today.

Sure i agree with you. But our forward line is not playing senior footy yet (Bate & Greeny aside).

Yes it is not acceptable to not win, but The MFC can be proud of our Block buster fixture today.

Another 20-30 Games into that midfield, Liam Jurrah. A Jack Watts who doesn't stop and think before doing. In time he will just do.

Remember if Greens last shot had not shaved the post we would have been 12 points up.

Today is another great game to file away and use as a learning tool in future.

We were not outplayed for most of the game. In fact besides the start our backline and midfield were all over it. We won contest after contest in several fantastic passages of play. Sure our forward line is still a work in progress but in the game I watched we were the better side and deserved the win. In fact had Brad Green had his kicking boots on we wouldh've. Still I walked away happy in the knowledge that

1. We are definately on the right track 2. Collingwood are still pretenders 3. Collingwood bought a dud in Jolly to go with that other dud Fraser and 4. I though we copped the raw end from the umpires.

Agree on Warnock when he kicked down the line and found Jolly who found Lockyer for the goal to tie. Personally thought one of Grimes or Bartram shouldh've have circled him for the handball and then the switch, not to be.

Got a feeling that Warnock may need to be replaced down back before we win a flag. Seems to get the jitters and on the last line, this can lead to problems.

Hats off to Moloney and Jamar, Wow, sensational games from the two of them.

Just gotta love the footy!!

The defensive half forward is the role he is most suited too. Unfortunately forwards need to be attacking players.

Disappointed with the draw (I would have found myself $500 the richer if we had won...)

Given the mauling we copped last year, I'm really pleased with our development. Our tenacity in the last quarter was exceptional - How good was Jones' smother to set up the Bate goal?

It was also good to see a Collingwood supporter completely humiliated after making a few ill-considered snow jokes in a pack of Melbourne supporters!

robbed?

We were lucky not to lose by 10 goals.

Today's lesson is once again, play like crap at the start of the game and you will lose.

We absorbed an enormous amount of pressure in the first 10 minutes, not sure we can blame our slow starts for today but rather, Collingwood was absolutely on frenetic fire at the start.

Obviously they weren't going to be able to sustain it, we were just lucky they didn't get 5 goals on the board in that burst.

To our credit, we absorbed all that and started to get our game underway. The signs were good for us in the second half of that first qtr, so I think we did reasonably despite the Pies' opening burst.

In the face of intense pressure, we didn't capitulate!

Can someone explain whether this playing with no one inside 50 assist us against Collingwood today or harmed our chances of kicking a decent score?

I thought it assisted us. In fact, good coaching up forward for a change. We don't have strong tall marking forwards, so our shorter forwards would have been exposed to huge physical pressure from the Collingwood backs.

Instead, by the likes of Green, Miller, Dunn, Bate etc. running quickly into the wide open space in front of our goal, they weren't under such physical pressure from the Pies backmen. And those backmen were caught wrong-footed because they were forced to defend running towards our goal, rather than what they prefer & do well, defending a ball coming towards them (and our goal).

Just how it appeared to me. Of course once Jurrah's around, things can be different.

question - (not that it makes much of a difference given the filth had more opps than us) - Clokes kick on goal after the siren at quarter time was touched by a demon before going through...... if after the siren goes, shouldn't the play be stopped as soon as it is touched, and not counted as a rushed behind as it was?

Nope, the ball must come to complete stop.

So theoretically, a player could bomb it in from 90 metres out and if a player managed to volley it through for a goal or a point, that would be allowed? I know that's drawing a long bow, but the rule seems a bit messy to me.

I think the quarter should be over as soon as the ball is touched or hits the ground, as with Rooke's goal in last year's grand final. It would be play on usually, so I don't know why they make an exception after the siren.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
