explain meniscus?

The knee has two major cartilages both shaped rather like a crescent ( from the Greek, not Latin ). There's a medial (inner) and lateral (outer). So, he might have "done his cartilage".

Am I correct in saying that's it's only really a 4-6 week injury and only requires a minor bout of surgery???

One of my friends had his meniscus operated on and doesn't seem to have many prolonged effects.

Poor bloke seems to find a way to get injured. Hopefully he can get back quickly. He needs to keep on developing.

Doesn't sound too serious. This year is a big just getting confidence back in his body year. I really havent been overly impressed by him this year but def not about to jump off his bandwagon.

I don't expect Garland to be back to his best until next year, but he is crucial to our long term defence.

in 2008 he was our best defender.

Now he is part of a team of Frawley, Warnock, Grimes, Rivers and then Garland who can play equally on talls, smalls and mediums.

Garland is the best match up for any tricky medium sized forwards which play such an important role in modern footy.

Go dees

Apparantly it was only a jarred knee had scans and got the all clear for any structual damage according to SEN today. 50/50 for this weekend

Fantastic news!

We could really use him against Carlton and Collingwood's small forwards.

That's about as good as we could have hoped for.

I agree with sylvinator when he says that it's likely to be next year when Garland really starts playing some good footy again - he missed a heap of football with his foot injury.

I agree he is a very important player too our backline equal to Warnock and Frawley IMO for that exact reason

It's a miracle he has been able to get back on an AFL ground without losing pace or skills, but yes it will take him a while to get back into top gear again.

He is such a smart footballer, and such a versatile player he is easily in our top 10 most important players of the future IMHO.

You think he's looked as quick as he did pre-injury?

I don't.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
