Cam goes inside the club to outline what is happening with ourgreat club..this will be happening in parts-starting today..

http://bigpondvideo.com/afl/250223 What do you think-I think it is outstanding-

It is a segment called-Whiteboard Wednesday insight into our operations at MFC.

Excellent video. I like the idea of it.

Finally the supporters are being made to feel part of the Process as a kind of family.

We have just got to hang in there.

"In the main we're in the building stage, and quite clearly where we are, we are very much in the building phase, and probably will be in that phase for some period of time."

That is why patience is required.

PS. He covered this (red & blue print) briefly at the Summit, 16 months ago.

HT-- get your point re PATIENCE...but I would also like to see progresion as well.

Take it up with Schwab, it's not really my point. I'm simply highlighting his point.

Wait until after the first 5 games at the G this year, don't use practise match form as a guide. It is not and has never been reliable.

Which is why you need to look at the season as a whole rather than leaping to extremes after every game or membership update.

It's like going to a construction site every day and screaming at the bricklayer about the living room not being ready. Progression is a gradual process over a period of time. You're not going to show up on Saturday week and all of a sudden all our problems have gone away and we're playing great football. You have to learn to look for the positive passages of play where things do work as signs of progression rather than see a mistake and turnover as a sign of regression.

How do you bookmark this post ?! I'm sure we'll need to refer to it, time and time again this season.

Nice initiative by Cam.

Yeh, I agree. Outstanding initiative. I think this is a positive step in involving and communicating with supporters, and is very much linked to the "Brand" he discusses and in fact concedes needs to improve.

We have had 3 years to progress- time to show something.

Now what did Cam Schwab say about Patience and rebuilding?

Inner Demon and High Tower are spot on with their observations.

3 years ago we were worse than a train wreck on & off the ground.

The building analogy is spot on. i totally renovated my house 3 years ago & there were times i thought it would never end, but slowly it all came together, just got to plan it solidly-delegate work to the best people qualified & trust them to do it. :P

I understand your analogy accept accept that 3 years ago- we were in a larger mess than know- off field. I also accept your point re renovating- just completed task myself then the storms. However on field I think we have gone backwards. Re renovating at least one can see some progression. Our football club on field has recruited- well-don't know ? development-Don't know? Coaching-Don't know These are questions that will be answered sometime soon. But as Jimma stated recently-- the football department is accountable. However back to Wednesday's with Cam- I think it is an excellent addition.

This is not only an in sight to the MFC business plan but also is an education on business planning in General. I run a business and took on board a few thinks he brought up that can relate to my business planning.

The club is starting to push there plan out there we just need the on field performance to catch up.

Backwards? So adding Watts, Scully, Grimes, Morton, Jurrah, Blease, Strauss, Trengove, Bennell, Jetta, Maric, Cheney is going backwards? Are you sure? Take some time to think before your next post, it'll help no end.

As far as I am concerned only A FEW(3) of the above names have truly showed that they are very worthy of their spot playing for the MFC...GRIMES,MORTON, JURRAH, the others still have to prove themselves.Scully, Watts, Blease, Strauss, Trengove(however, I do think he will be a star along with Bennell),Maric,Cheney,-and the ones you have not mentioned--Fitzpatrick,Gysberts,Gawn,all have a long way to go as far as I am concerned. And I am sure most posters would agree with me. We all thought Bartram would have made it... look now.Can you remember the name David Cordner--we thought he would turn out a star along with a lot of other Under 19 players in that premiership area. Not all young players make it in the BIG LEAGUE.THAT IS FACT. .So ...instead of me taking time to think, I think you should crawl, before you Roost it with your opinion and advise..(Practice what you preach- and think before you post..)

Quite correct. One thing is for sure though they have a hell of alot better chance to succeed than the players on the list 3 and 4 years ago.

only a few have showed promise because only a few have played. Of course they have a long way to go, there all 18. It all comes back to patience of which you have none

I am [censored] off that the young blokes we have recruited in the last three years aren't playing like seasoned veterans.

A fantastic initiative Cam!

Cam went through this in a small detail at the AGM, and this gives you a great insight as to the direct we are going. The MFC has now become more accessible to the fans and CS White board Wednesday will give those who cannot make it to Casey, the games or family days a better understanding of our great club. The model Cam uses is a not only a great model for the MFC but for business as well. I have recently been to the Intra club and NAB challenge at Casey and the family day at Luna Park, and I have had fantastic conversations with Cam, Gotchy, Bailey, Jimmy and numerous players. Talking to fans of other clubs, they are envious of the assess ability we have to just walk up to these people and have good genuine conversation. (I understand that one clubs family day they were charging people for player’s autographs) It is great to see us as an innovator rather than a follower, however to tell the truth I take very little notice of other clubs. Now all we need now is to turn this behind the scenes work to on field success!

All the more reason for patience.

The way this thread is going we might have to re-title it from MFC INSIGHT - Cam Schwab.....

... to JCB INSIGHT - Case study on impatience.

Let's now refocus on Tuesday's with Terry Whiteboard Wednesday...please guys. And JCB take a deep breath. Again.

I cannot say that is a fact. However, I do accept we had to do what we have done --and accept it is going to take time..But I detected from WJ-- in his last report, his thoughts are like mine, we have not come on as I would have thought & expected.. I think it is time players like-Bail,Bartram,Bell,Dunn, Jamar,Johnson,Jones, Martin, Maric,McNamara,Petterd, step up to the plate this year and show the way..these are the one's under the microscope along with the young one's developmentand in particular the coaching panel.

You say all this... and in the previous breath you have demanded to see instant results!

Your comedic talents know no bounds.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
