A RICHMOND draftee has been accused of assaulting three people in Alice Springs on New Year's Eve.

Troy Taylor, 18, was taken by Richmond with pick 51 in the 2009 national draft.

But his AFL future is in in doubt after his alleged involvement in an incident in which one man was taken to hospital and another two injured.

Northern Territory police last night confirmed they were investigating the alleged assault of three men aged 33, 39 and 47, at a party in Alice Springs about 12.30am on New Year's Day.

It doesn't sound too good for him, even though at this point the victim's words are nothing more than allegations.

It does make you wonder whether his off-field behaviour in the past was one of the reasons why he lasted until pick 51, given that he has so much talent as a player.

What a stupid thing to get your self involved with, on the brink of your AFL career. If Taylor is charged by police, then he will say good by to his AFL career. Is getting [censored] on new years eve, worth an AFL career?

Richmond will delist him for shore...

Don't bet on it.

Gebus, 3 blokes. Allegedly thats a fair effort for one person, let alone allegedly an 18 yr old

He is 18 years old. That's about the only thing that you don't have to qualify by using the word "allegedly". Apparently, he's allegedly a dickhead too but the Tigers allegedly don't have an alleged "no alleged dickheads policy".

Not sure how true this is, but I've heard he was on parole to begin with.

Though I'd suggest that's probably not 100% accurate

Sad way for his adult life to begin with, especially since he talked with The Age about not being that kind of person again before the draft.

Interesting to see Lovett is likely to be charged by the police for rape. The Saints lose Ball for nothing, give up an early pick for Lovett and it doesn't look like he will turn out in a Saints jumper.

Have not heard much about Hurley's beating up of the cab driver since it happen.

faces court in february i think the hun reported. Is the afl becoming the new nrl in terms of incidents. Not the nature of them but the amount of incidences. The NRL must be loving this considering the crap they copped

That's what the papers said. If true and he is charged and convicted of assaults, he will have breached his parole and that means a penalty on parole violation. At worst it could mean more jail time.

Mind you, that's how the Toigs like their recruits these days. Hardened up by a bit of a stretch in the big house. The policy has worked well so far because the Bloos and the Saints are gearing to imitate.

A bit of crap-talk to get picked up by someone, and obviously that's all it was!

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
