Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Last training at Casey for 09

Great afternoon at Casey with an almost full list on display for all to see. Big semi trailer set up on outer wing with kids attractions, BBQ , etc. Plenty of people out for a look see, including new-ish Casey Mayor Cr Lorrainne Wreford, I think is her name. She has converted to be a Dees member as promised.

Players look a treat and put on quite a show.

A bit of concern was LJ leaving the field for what appeared to be a wrist injury and Wonna with a left leg/knee/ankle/groin injury??

Gee this club has an abundance of young talent now and Watts, Scully, Trengove etc are the path to a superb future.

Just gotta keep em on the park! Go Demons. ;)

LJ left the track, had his wrist strapped and returned, but came off again. Didn't see him come back?

Wonna limped off with 2 trainers and went into the rooms, not to return at all! Looked pretty glum too.

With a four week break, both should have enough time to get back into it.

Wonder what the injuries are.

Anyone got some pics?

That's what we said last year. Let's hope it's nothing too serious.

Wonna actually walked off under his own steam but the look on his face said "FRUSTRATION". Seemed to favour his left leg and was flanked by 2 trainers. He looks a ball of muscle and hopefully it's just a minor hiccup.

LJ actually went back out after initially going into the rooms for treatment and to have his wrist strapped. Came back off again and was obviously in a fair bit of discomfort with his wrist (Left). Didn't see him after that.

Cam Bruce spent a bit of time playing slips cricket with a group that included Watts and Gawn. Jonesy again a tearaway on the track although he was rugged up a bit in tights and long sleeves?? Meeson putting in a fair bit too but looks small when compared to Gawn and Spencer who has some size in his upper body now. The new boys all did well but occasionally had the fumbles = understandable!

Gotta say that Chris Connolly aint shy of a microphone and really had the local traders, kids, and assorted onlookers all under his spell. This is gold for the club as he is multi faceted and has the respect of all onfielders too.

The extensions are well on the way with roof on and internal frames all up. Looks impressive too.

Stacks of young kids with red and blue gear on so I reckon Casey is going to be a real plus.

The surface of this ground is superb and the players seem to relish the chance to show their talents.

Kicking is still improving but some of the handball drills were breathtaking.

The squad has plenty of talls with Johnson, Russian, Spencer, Martin, Gawn, Meeson, Fitzpatrick etc all over 197cm.

The midfield is nicely set up along with our newbies who seem better equipped to deliver the ball to Watts, Miller, Bate, Jurrah and co in 2010.

Wish to say here that most of the recruits are pretty good with their footskills and even Spencer seems a bit more consistent here. Bring on 2010.

It was hard to keep an eye on everything that was happening...from taking in all the development that's taken place around the ground, to all the youngsters that turned up in red & blue, to the new recruit that really caught my eye.... Luke Tapscott. He can run and he looks like he's ready to play now.

Hearing that Aussie has done a hammy is actually a relief to me. If you remember this year he did a hammy preseason and then returned to tear his meniscus. It was this that kept flaring up every time he resumed training. The good news recently was that he was training well with no problems with his knee so a hammy is not so bad as long as he doesn't become a chronic hammy guy.

I reckon Luke could be one of our finds. I like how our list is developing, in previous developments, their was always a lack of planning especially ND's reign - it seems that there is a plan in place now, I have a good feeling sucess will not be far off and it will be sustained.

After my last post sent someone loopy, I still would like an update on Watts? Was he training fulltime with the main group on Friday. Just had contradicting reports some saying he was, others saying he is on a modified training program.

Watts did not train with the main group at all.... which I found disappointing. He was with the group returning from injury - so was Scully - mainly doing handball drills. They also did reflex work with a tennis ball. Matched against Gawn he certainly didn't look like a big man - but he was energetic and enthusiastic throughout - and he pulled in some blinders when Kelly O'Donnell smashed a tennis ball anywhere near him!

The first time I went to Casey I got lost - this time I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I got there on the freeway. The surface of the ground is superb - and I can imagine an attractive fully functional facility when the grandstand extension/ gym area is complete.

For all that, I was a little disappointed at the crowd. The function had been given good coverage on the web-site and it was a perfect opportunity to see our new recruits. Clearly very few people from the central suburbs made the trip.It was very much a local promotion - and the fact that the mayor was there was most encouraging. However I would be surprised if there were 500 people all up. The Casey Demons have a long way to go - but it is of course very early days - and the atmosphere was bright and positive.

There was a lot of verve in the training. Aussie looked terrific before he got hurt and Sylvia was brilliant. Like everyone else I was impressed by Tapscott. For an 18 year old he is built like a brick sxxx house and he can really kick.

As to nicknames , very boring .. I heard Taps and Trenners and Fitzy and Gys.

Exciting times ahead

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
