yeah, I'd say that's why there are a million different blues and reds to choose from for the jumper?!

get the old Pantone swatch book out i reckon

and your lighting balanced no doubt :)

Brightness, contrast and gamma are all part of the process.

Most LCD monitors are turned up way too bright, so yes, that's a factor..

Never seen Robbo wear one.

Trapper and Wrecker did.

Wheels wore his jumper with the sleeves rolled up, they even made a "t-shirt" version for him.

I did it too and it's actually a very comfy jumper. Good for when you don't want to go with the singlet but less daggy than the long sleeve.

Bruce also used to wear long sleeves occasionally.

Didn't Yze, Wheels and Trapper all wear the t-shirt version until the AFL came down on them at the time they also found some (and Bulldogs players ) were wearing shorter socks... ?

Then they went back to long sleeves rolled up.

long sleeves or short sleeves anyday. tshirt? what a joke.

Good point, because no other sport would have their athletes compete in a t-shirt-like top...

Not at all.

During the act of being tackled the old neck created strong and weak points causing a player to twist their body when caught.

This rounded neck spreads the load evenly and pulls the player back in the direction that the tackle is coming from, making it easier to stand up in a tackle and maintain balance.

They should keep the V and just use a velcro seam down each side. Then when the player is tackled, the jumper just comes off in the opponents hands, leaving Scully to run into open goal, bare-chested.

Who am I kidding? As if they're going to catch Scully anyway!

And yes, I'm bored. How long to go?

Just thought I would post an 'updated' version of a possible 2010 jumper using some suggestions from this site.

MelbourneDemonsGuernsey2010copy1.jpg

Changes made:

- Changed the colour of the yoke to a darker 'blood red'

- Started the yoke higher up on the arm cuff, and extended the bottom point another 2-3cm

- Added a 'Demon' to the front of the jumper under the sponsor logo

- Removed '1858', and replaced it with the traditional 'MFC' logo (just an idea I had).

Thats about it... comments appreciated.

i reckon thats a good design but i was thinking maybe instead of the demon on the front under the sponser just put the orginal melb fc logo u have on the back under the sponser... what are your thoughts?

It was only Whelan that wore the t-shirt version, in 2002.

The only players on the list that I've seen wear a long sleeve jumper are Bruce, Green, Rivers and James McDonald. I reckon the long sleeve jumper has become an endagered specie.

I'm pretty sure Yze wore one too.

edit: - It may have only been for one or two games. Then went back to long sleeve rolled up after a crackdown. 2004 rings a bell.

The crackdown was in 2002. Yze wore his sleeves rolled up on '05 I'm sure of that, so he probably did in '04 as well.

LOVE the MFC logo on the back of the top, white would stand out more than the blue (always wanted this on the top).

EDIT: I would buy this top..

Yeah, didn't the Wizard wear one the day he kicked 9 in a half against Collingwood in 2000?! But yes, he did wear one occasionally!

Don't think he did that day, but he did when he kicked goal of the year in '98

Woewodin wore a long sleeve against Port when he kicked "that goal" too.

Love the logo. I really missed it with the last jumper.

I think I'll be buying a new jumper this year.

Yeah, thats right - and in 98 they still had the cotton jumpers with the red cuffs didnt they?! i think it was 2000 when they brought in the new, silky, cut-off cuffs?! We can blame FILA for that ;)

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
