Bit random, but Dustin Martin seems like a bit of [censored], any one else notice?

I think his a bit of a megahead.(ego, not literally)

Yeah, that noticed that too. Saw a few interviews on the TAC cup show, he seemed to very arrogant. Doesn't really matter though, he'll be a gun.

Can someone tell me what I am missing with Tapscott. Best kick in the draft allegedly but he looks like this years Rockliff for mine. Why would we take him at 11 instead of a tall or a true mid? Where does he fit as an AFL footballer? I am missing something I think....

In the All Australia U18...Described at draft camp as the new Leigh Matthews..Fairly decent wrap...

If you haven't watched him play you are missing a lot..

Very very well built for his age..tough..strong..good overhead...very long kick...good goal sense..

We need players that have some balk...we can't have 20 skinny kids running around..he already has a made body..and can play straight away..

I would pick him up at 11 if he was still there...I think he will get snapped up by Port..

He's a leader as well - another important trait.

The role of attacking Half Forwards is becoming even more important to teams game plans, Chapman, SJ, LeCras and Porps all had stellar years. The latter two kicking 110 goals between them.

Black and Watts should make a very moblie hard working strong marking pair and run the bigger defenders off there legs.

Combine that with the natural Brilliance of Jurrah, Taylor and Patrick rotating forward and up the ground and you have a very mobile dangerous forwardline.

Gawn being a big unit will give Scully and Trengove first use of the ball.

Thorp's a longshot but little risk using a psd pick.

Anyone who thinks that Tom isn't mature enough to hold the number one mantle should read about him in The Herald Sun this morning.

Talia if available, then Tapscott

Vardy would be great at 18, but if Melksham lasted this long I have a feeling we'll take him.

34 - unsure, will update...

50 - Think Liam Patrick may still be in the mix at 50 and would be worth a punt

Went with Talia ahead of Vardy and others because of his superior kicking and disposal.

HOPE Tappy and Daw are still there at 18 and 34.

Jack Grimes will be a Star, definetely worth the risk on young Dylan.

If we take Thorp.. surely were not that daft? Or do we want a 'hit-man' D. Rhys-Jones type? If we have to spend the money somehow, then Joel for me.

Maybe Liam Patrick as a back up for an already taken Daw / Grimey2? ..Or if anyone is silly enough to pick up Newts / Meese  and frees up a rookie spot

Looks good but I would swap positions with Magic Door and Grimes2. I wouldn't be unhappy if we took Black at 11.

I have watched him play and wonder where his improvement comes from. He has good skills and appears clean but does not appear to have any great athletic traits, is already somewhat mature of body, appears to be a permanent flanker. I just dont see where he will fit in our plans and there is much more I would rather look at with 11.

The only reason people state he will snapped up by Port is because is from SA.

really like this.

the only thing is i think pick 34 will need to be used on patrick if we want him. serious doubts whether he'll be available after hawthorn's first pick.

Yep, I reckon this just about nails the best outcome...I would be rapt with these selections.

If Thorpe is just a thug, or a [censored] forget him....we don't need any distractions. Give another kid a go.

Sums up Leigh Mathews

We all (or should) know what Mathews did when he layed

Big call comparing Tapscott with one of the greats of the game

I think at #11 Tapscott will be our best bet even with taller KPF still available

The only KPF i would put ahead of Tapscott would be Butcher but i really doubt he will be still there at #11

Pardon my ignorance but I never got close enough to watch him when he "layed". What was it like?

FWIW here's my contribution:

11. Talia

18. Ball

34. Gawn

50. Barlow

PSD. Thorp

Barlow is a talented VFL player with Werribee and he's my smokey.

Do you really think butch will be there at 11? Tapscott 18? Patrick at 50???

Sorry is this meant to be closest to the pin or my dream draft as they are very different...

Yes. Well & truly.

The love affair with Liam Patrick on this forum is out of touch with reality.

is that why hawthorn don't want him to play any games so he is not in show to any other clubs?

You didn't answer butch and tapscott...

Not having a go at you as if your drafts came to reality that would be beyond our wildest dreams. Only problem being that I think they may be exactly that...

It wasn't my draft, I was just commenting on your assertion Patrick would be gone by pick 50.

I don't believe this is true.

yes I do believe that Patrick will be available at 50, Tapscott at 18 and I see a chance of Butcher falling to 11. I do assure you, I am rather well educated on this year's draft

If you are right I will love you forever - and I mean that.

Should say re- Buthcer & Tapscott

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
