No, but he could become just that, if he thinks and acts carefully.

He was .... his present silence isn't helping

That's cause he doesn't want to play for the Demons and Caro told him not too.

He respected because he is hard at it and seems a good citizen. That he gets banged up every quarter adds to the perception but no AFL standard player should get banged up like he does unless they have an issue like Kosi or are a tagger that deserves it.

He is a mid level AFL footballer but not elite and he is declining not improving. Some people pump him up and they say he is hard done by like Grant Thomas. Still his worst is still better than Raph Clarke's best.

Awesome thread topic guys. Earned a chuckle.

To answer the question, perhas not the most popular (or most unpopular) but at least very well respected, the guy was ralphing weekly at one stage due to the hard work and the attention he'd be copping on a regular basis, and he just kept at it.

He has two options. And he will lose respect in the eyes of many with whatever decision he makes.

Go to the reigning back-to-back wooden spooner and spend 80% of the game on the ground in a team that is middle of the road at best in 2010.

Stay at a premiership contender and possibly play half an AFL game or a full VFL game in the hope of being the 20th, 21st, or 22nd player picked on the last Saturday in September.

Both have their plusses and their minuses, and both require thought.

If he chooses not to play for the MFC it is not because our FD "don' no what there doin!'" and it is not because "the Media don't want us to have good players."

Also his here-to-fore silence is not because he "hates the MFC" as the assertion that "if he wanted to come he would have already said so" holds less weight than Miranda Kerr.

Luke Ball does not have to make audible the thoughts in his head as he is making his decision, he needs to only tell the world of the decision within a certain time-frame - a time-frame that has not yet expired and nor will it in the next 24 to 48 hours.

This is for a few select individuals - stop tilting at windmills when there are none. Tilt when a decision is made.

Completely Correct. His Management has probably told him to not say a word...Which keeps his Market Value up for all takers until the very last moment.

You are right .His image is suffering during this period of silence - but it shouldn't be.

He is facing a huge decision and he is entitled to take his time. We are all jumping at shadows .. and so is the media. We don't know all of the issues.... we don't know what he is thinking...

I am one who has said that I would have expected him to talk to us if he was interested. But then again perhaps he's decided to dismiss the other options first..

The fact is that we have to reserve judgment... and wait until Luke himself makes a formal public statement

I've never heard so many compliments from supports of other clubs, especially magpies and bombers supporters, about a possible Melbourne player. My sisters b/f, who would die for the pies, says he despises Melbourne and thinks they don't deserve to be in the AFL (lol)...unless Ball is playing with them.

Another friend, who is a Carlton supporter, says Luke Ball is his favourite player in the league.

Some family friends, who are the typical arrogant and ignorant essendon supporters, say they'd give up anyone (yes, ANYONE) on their team for Luke.

And that is only the start of it. I've heard many others.

He WILL be Melbourne's next captain.

He WILL be Melbourne's best ever player.

He WILL lead us to a premiership.

He WILL win a Brownlow.

He IS a legend.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
