Robbo to the Blues?

I'd be thrilled to see Robbo playing for Carlton or anyone else. He has plenty of goals left in him and he deserves the chance to play in finals again which Carlton can give him. I can't see him getting them to the GF, but they will certainly benefit from having an accurate scoring option in their forward 50.

lol they'll have a forward line stacked with mid-sized forward players. As much as I don't care if he goes there, Carlton must be desperate to get him. They don't have a future star KPP in the entire squad, which is pretty sad considering how many picks they had over several years.

How would you know?

They traded and got Lachie Henderson for Fev from Bris.

If Warnock is back fit next year Kruezer goes forward.

They also traded Josh Kennedy to WCE as part of the Judd deal.

I think Robbo will get picked up, probably by the Blues but if not someone else.

I know people on this site disagree with me, but Robbo was let go too young and too early. He still kicks alot of goals. He came off a major 12 month injury with no preseason and kick at 2.5 goals per game with terrible delivery in the worst team in the comp. If he plays all season for a good team he will kick 50 goals.

I agree, We will miss him next year even if he wasn't part of the long term.

I don't think too many people will argue that Robbo does not still offer something significant offensively - but he's very selfish - 12 kicks means 12 shots for 5 goals. But it's his defensive play that is the big problem - when he's lying on his back while his man runs free. Yes he might kick 50 but he also might give up 30 from rebounds out of the forward 50. It depends whether Carlton can live with this or think they can reform him.

We don't want players who play that way and we don't want that example set to our young players. I saw a dad seriously teaching his young son to kick goals back over his head on the weekend - hmmmmm - no doubt a Robbo admirer.

I can understand the Clubs Position. But i still Believe Robbo had another 12 months left in him for the MFC.

Will be fascinating to see what the Forward line structure is next year-Maybe the Ruckmen will "rest" up forward in the pocket (like the old days) instead of on the bench.

Our Forward coaches in the FD have really got to earn their pay next year as our forward line is so young & raw-That could be a good thing, i am prepared to wait & see but at the same time i am suprised we off loaded a 50 goal kicker so quickly.

Robbo in a carlton jumper makes me feel very ill, but i wish him all the Best as he will always be a demon who i hope will be welcomed back to the club anytime later when his career is over.

I hate Carlton so much...Lousy Stinking Cheats they are...

Or he has watched the Jurrah highlights.

But you are right with Robbo. We gained a gun when the ball was coming into the forward line but had 17 on the ground when it went the other way.

im still dirty Robbo didnt get another year on his contract and brad miller did, i thought robbo would of been great with young boys up forward.

Hope carlton let him have another crack at afl footy. hopefully the gold coast want brads services in 2011 because hes been given a fair run for the

lack of ability he has....

What, teach our young forwards not to chase and apply defensive pressure? No thanks.

And Miller, despite his flaws, is an extremely hard worker. He deserves his spot on the list IMO. He is also there to provide a big body for Watts to work off next year.

I'm still dirty Robbo didn't pass to a red hot Sylvia, wide open, 30 metres out against Hawthorn. Instead had a shot from 50 near the boundary.

Oh, in that game I counted 5 times he did not chase when he easily could and should have. 1 time when he may have been pretending to be injured or taking one of his regular grass naps instead of chasing the ball. And this was only up my end, and the only game and examples of terrible team play I'll bother to give.

Good for the young boys? BS. Good for junktime goals and highlight/lowlights. Go to Carlton, please.

I had my head in my hands for most of that game. I was nearly in tears. I remember tearing my hair out at that opportunity Robbo had to kick short for Sylvia to kick a certain goal... I remember those silly grass naps he had, too. I was just furious. Don't even get me started on that attempted shot in the goal square...

LOL I wonder how many ppl knew henderson existed just a month ago..but now he is going to be a star?

I can just picture Ratten and the supporters patting henderson on the back before round one, telling him "go ahead son, kick 90!"

Maybe you don't remember him, but i remember the young CHF drafted at pick 8 from the falcons a couple of years ago that we wanted, but Brisbane snatched him first.

I'd readily compare him to Josh Kennedy whom they traded away.

You need to do some homework. Don't you recall him ?

I think because Brown & Bradshaw have been the two key posts for a long time, people such as yourself have overlooked of what the Lions have had in their back pocket.

Huge wraps on him at Carlton.

And that's the rub with Robbo. The days of measuring a FF/KPF on purely the scoreboard are gone. A FF/KPF must be able to play offensively and defensively as part of what he delivers.

Dont know about that.

But he was well regarded when he was drafted.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
