he was named on the bench last wk and started in the middle from memory...

Guys would you say if Trengove got best on ground in the grand final he should be drafted #1 before Scully? And Scully of course goes #2...or has scully done enough for #1...?

SA people would say he'd go #1 if he was victorian. So i say we give him #1 for getting in the best or best on....

Got my ticket for the game- can't wait- saw him live a few weeks ago when Sturt mauled West Adelaide and he was close to best on ground- he's such a smart player, does a lot of good things that the tv cameras don't pick up- never stops running, doesn't get in the way of teamates, doesn't clog up space in the forward line and can lay a pretty brutal tackle when he gets a hold of someone, his disposal and composure under pressure is excellent- gonna be so disappointed if we don't draft him!!! Given that he's adjusted to playing against men with such apparent ease, i definately think that there a case for taking him #1

Just out of interest - what are you lot going to do if we don't pick him (or Scully for that matter)?

A lot of blokes around here have man crushes on some one that might end up at a different club.

Cry, then announce to anyone who listens that he isn't really that good anyway. The more I think about it the more I realise he has huge deficencies in his game an 'x' player is obviously the much better pick because 'x' has far more upside in his game.

Anyone in Melbourne know whether this game will be on free to air or pay tv?

I'd love to get a look at Jack Trengove.

Neither. The ABC are too cheap to show it nationally like they did with the VFL.

There is a site called justine tv. American internet site. They had every AFL game live on there site during the year, even the foxtel games. The connection can be a bit off sometimes but it could be worth a shot tommorrow if your keen.

Hey not sure if you mean the site justin.tv? Because that is great. Maybe it has a sister site Justine.tv but justin.tv is good too!

Fkn Sturt, can't believe we (Glenelg) went out in straight sets. Two minor premierships on the trot. Next year surely... The wait goes on... 24 years...

Oh and by the way, Trengove is an absolute gun and would be more than happy picking him up with one of the first two picks. One of my mates who follows the TAC Cup and the draft etc. very, very closely reckons that Trengove's form in the last month has been enough to seriously push Scully as the number 1. (Not that it matters who goes 1 or 2, but it is very exciting that someone has come up to Scully's level, who six months ago was head-and-shoulders above everyone else in this draft. If we are going to get the two clear standouts in the draft at this stage, I'm wrapped.)

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
