Artilcle in todays Age saying Melbourne's in the hunt for the Docker wingman who wants to be traded. What does everyone think? He's a decent player but a no from me unless it's through the PSD. I only want to see us trade for draft picks personally.

Oh jeez. Well, ok... he's probably not as ridiculous as many of the trade threads we see here, in that he's actually a possibility of being moved around...

But why? Rather leave it to BP. Unless it's because we've been forced by Bartram/Jamar or whoever into a trade.

Peake is 26, with only solid-good legspeed and a propensity for torching it, primarily because he can't kick that well on the run. Fair to say that for a 'running' player, this is a considerable handicap.

I can think of players I'd like at the club less, but lets hope this doesn't manifest itself in trade week.

Cant kick, no thanks, we are going to be linked to ever player that wants out, unless yuou are are gun you are not coming to Melbourne.

Bailey has said that he only wants skilled players.

That is exactly right get ready for us to be linked to every player out of contract regardless of fit. Too old and cant kick.

Please no.

Too old, what would he bring to the club.

Outside leg speed, which is a major need!

But I agree with the reservations, would only take for a player, say Bartram, Bell, PJ..

The only thing I can think of is that it would be an upgrade at the 'tagger' position from Bartram (gone) or Dunn (not ideal).

The cost to get him though would worry me...

Nope, he fits in as one of those player i'll be avoiding at all cost.

The major theme has being drafting kids who are good kicks and good decision makers. Brett Peake flys in the face of both.

The only thing I think will make me accept Peake is Freo give us their 1st pick and they must accept Bell, Bartram and Paul Johnson in return.

Why would you trade one fundamentally flawed player for another? Trade for trade's sake.

If we were in the hunt for a player like Peake it would be obvious MFC are trying to fast track our results. With his fantastic long accurate kicks from down back and on the wing it could free up Davey for the fwd line? or Grimes a bit more to run in the midfield?

He cant kick.....Having someone who can turn the ball over certaintly fast tracks results.

We have enough of those.

He has a great booming kick.

Doesn't matter if you can launch the nut like an ICBM, if you're a running half-back flanker its all about accuracy. If you're turning it over with indiscriminant kicks, you get caught out of position, and your opponent cuts you up on the rebound. We have enough blokes who can thump it, but totally miss the target.

Oh great, so he's Paul Wheatley but 2 years younger... NEXT.

He hasn't had a kick since they made the finals. He resembles Freo when he's on he is very exciting with his pace when he is off he is very poor he can stray the ball anywhere. As long as we gave nothing away for him I would be interested.

It makes Demonland look very poor when our posters who have been on here for a long time clearly know nothing about players from other teams. Brett Peake is very highly rated in the west. IMO Melbourne should not go after his services, as we should look younger, but in saying that he would add quality to our side.

Freo are prepared to let go of him and WCE wont touch him. I dont see either PA or the Crows. He is a middle range footballer with flaky skills. Dont overgloss it.

You will no doubt miss the irony of your swipe at others.

Hook, line and sinker.

No Doubt at all? Oh the irony in that Rhino.

If this is indeed true (as I noticed it in the paper myself, as well), what the heck are we thinking?

If it were true Melbourne must see something in him that we need, or some potential. You would have to trust that Melbourne wouldn't make a silly move for no good reason.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
