Darn good!

Except that by 2012, Strauss will be at least what Gilbee is now, Blease will be one of the best outside mids in the comp, and Cale will be a (100kg!!) superstar KPP.

And Trengove? Did we miss out on the PP in 2009? Or did he go back to SA?

I didn't put in Trengove because i wasn't sure if we were going to select him at pick 2. It is still up in the air!

I hope we do because i don't want Bucther because he is really over rated.

.....

Everyone seems to have left Nev Jetta out!!

He was my 23rd man too. Had Brocky on a HFF just ahead of him.

Surprised he doesn't get more of a mention tho.. had a dog of a day against Freo, but his form in the previous 3-4 weeks was really promising..

He'll be around the 85kg mark - a ball of muscle by 2012, ala: moloney, leon davis -im thinking!!

Yes I'm still holding faith with Bell. Next year will be make or break for him along with a few others.

Haven't we been hearing that for the last 3, maybe 4, years..?

I hope you're right. Would love him to work his butt off and become a handy player for us.

this is how i believe our team will line up over the next few years, of course once the kids have gained some more experience:

RIVERS WARNOCK FRAWLEY

BENNELL GARLAND STRAUSS

BLEASE GRIMES DAVEY

SYLVIA WATTS BATE

PETTERD JURRUH WONAEAMIRRI

MEESEN SCULLY MCLEAN

MARTIN TRENGROVE JONES MORTON :INTER

MALONEY MARIC CHENEY :EMG

Scully and Trengrove are in red because we don't have them ... yet.

Very sorry to Maloney but i rate a fully fit Mclean and Jones above him.

Also sorry to T.Mac, Jetta (i rate his defensive work in the forward line), Jamar, Dunn, Spencer and Valenti.

And before you start ranting and raving about Bruce and Green, if you can't see that 1. Bruce is soft and 2. that Morton is the new Bruce but only 10 times better, then what have you been watching?

and as for Green, i just can't fit him in. The kids will develop into much better players than him.

Bennell, Strauss and Blease are going to be stars!

A midfield with, Grimes, Scully, Mclean, Trengrove, Jones is going to dominate and when you rotate, Davey, Blease, Sylvia, Strauss and Bennell through there, it will just be awsome!

Morton is an absolute gun and can simply play anywhere on the ground that he is needed.

The backline is going to be one of the best in the league. Rivers may have to make way for a smaller player, the backline may be too top heavy and i rate Warnock, Frawley and Garland above Rivers. The quality of run and delivery coming from Bennell and Strauss will be top class.

And lastly, thats forward line will kick a heap of goals. Not to mention the goals that will come through Davey, Blease, Grimes, Mclean and Scully!

The future is looking very good indeed!

FB: Frawley, Warncok, Bennell

HB: Garland, Rivers, Grimes

C: Morton, Scully(1), Davey

HF: Sylvia, Watts, Maric

FF: Jurrah, Panos(18), Wonna

FOLL: Jamar, Trengove(2), McLean

INT: Blease, Jones, Martin, Moloney

EMERG: Bartram, Silvagni*, Strauss

(1) = Pick 1 2009 ND

(2) = Pick 2 2009 ND

(18) = Pick 18 2009 ND

Please note this team is based on assumption of Bruce retired end of 2010, Green retired end of 2011, Petetrd moved to Gold Coast end of 2010, Bate moved to West Sydney end of 2011. Fingers crossed Petetd and Bate stay put, but chances are we will loose at least one of our established players to the new franchises.

TD..you have raised that ugly spectre..." the effect of GC and WS" ..and probably just as well you have as it will definitley colour our list.

Something I probably had forgot to give enough weight to is who do we need to get as who is likely to be stolen from us.

Greens current paper finishes end of 2011... he might get another year or so if we are looking at a cup.

Really? Could you imagine wanting to leave all your mates and go to a team full of kids? Even with a fat bundle of cash, it just doesn't seem all that appealing to me.

The ones that I think will go will be disgruntled stars or players desperate to be captain yet there are too many leaders at their club to get a look in.

You're still holding faith. Can I get you some water or something to eat whilst you're holding on? You've been there an awful long time gOLLy. I'm not certain the 'Bell' will ring true. Keep holding on though, you never know your luck in a big city. ;)

I hope your right. Would love us to hang on to everyone that we can. Just think we should be prepared in case it does happened. As mentioned earlier I don't think anyone was prepared for Thompson walking out after 04 just as he was starting to establish himself.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

Once again inaccuracy and inefficiency going inside 50 rears it's ugly head as the Demons suffered their second loss on the trot and their fourth loss in five games as they go down to the Pies by 38 points on Kings Birthday at the MCG.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag
