Changes for Next Week?

IMHO:

Bartram for Bell - BOG for Casey, speed and endurance to run with one of the best midfields in the comp. Bell out due to collarbone unortunately.

Johnson for Martin - Played really well on weekend, Stef looks like he could use a rest. Geelongs forward line will be more of a hassle with the little guys, not the man mountains.

McKenzie for Morton - Cale needs a rest, and if Bailey has the aggots Jordie should get a run at home, give us a chance to see if he can step up.

Probably max of 3 changes, but Valenti, Whelan, Bennell and Miller are unlucky. Maybe Miller for Robbo.

Thoughts?

Why make so many changes to a winning side. Reward the players.

Not sure if there will be many changes but would love to see Bartram back.

I think it is time for the sacred one to be rested. Yes that is Cale.

Out: Bell Morton

In: Barts (???)

Mclean looked in the wars on the weekend, He seemed to be limping a lot. Possibly out?

No way will Watts get sent down to the Cattery.

Jurrah may even be rested against those thugs.

Morton won't be dropped, I though he was good yesterday.

Out Bell

In Bartram

Then against North two weeks later we have four changes

Out Robbo, McDonald, Bartram, Dunn

No way. He had an awesome game

Agree, yesterday was his best game for MFC IMO. Obviously needs to work on his kicking but otherwise is developing nicely.

Guest Watts=Saviour

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE don't play Watts! A Backline like that will crush him, and the only thing he'll get of the game will be critisizm. He played well enough for Casey, leave him there for another week.

Rest a few players, bring in some poor ones.....doesn't really matter, it's Geelong at Skilled.....

 Haha! Oh how I miss Carroll. And big Al.

Don't like the suggestions about saving the big changes for next week.. I'm flying to Canberra and I would love a win!

Although we are on 3 wins you could say we are really on 4 wins because there is no way that Freo will want to win the round 20 game. They can get a priority pick (after the first round) if they don't win more than 4 games. I think they will beat WC in the derby because WC can't afford to win any more games.

Therefore the only thing we can do is rest some of the play-makers for the North and Richmond games such as Bruce and Green, McDonald, Bate, Maloney and now Jurrah.

It's time to give Bail, Hughes and Valenti some games for their development and bring back Newton at FF.

Even then I think we will struggle not to win 5 games.

GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda

It's Game Day and after 2 losses on the trot the Dees must win against the Saints today at the MCG to keep in touch with the Top 4. A loss today will see them drop out of the Top 8 for the first time since 2020.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.
