There you go CB, Petterd named down back. That will make you happy.

I think it's a good move, with Watts and Jurrah now forward, Ricky P down back, where he's played his best footy could be a welcome addition...

Still would've liked Juice to come in for Robbo...

No McDonald, no Jamar. Wonder how far off these two are then?

Whelan picked ahead of Cheney, can anyone explain this?

Management !! ;)

MELBOURNE coach Dean Bailey has defended his club's handling of Jack Watts in the face of the intense media scrutiny that has followed the 18-year-old's debut.

SUCCESSIVE poor losses may have intensified the scrutiny of Melbourne's progress, but Dean Bailey is adamant his team has taken great strides forward this season and will continue to improve.

Jones an emergency? Anybody know the reasoning behind this? You'd think if he was fit, he'd be in. If not, he'd be out.

I think it's important to help continue the winning form of our partners, Casey, & they've been left a little thin with their goal scoring ability.

If Jones or someone else were to help them out in the interests of Team balance, I think that would be very healthy for our young'uns development.

I'd like to see young Strauss cut loose this week @ Williamstown I think, Saturday.

in jack grimes, out travis johnstone.

edit: though TJ is listed as back injury (test), which in some ways is even more ironic.

:blink::unsure: ?

the trade for whom we got grimes. as with any such 'trade an experienced player for a pick' scenario there was constant discussion about whether it was any good. grimes is getting a game this week, TJ isn't. win for the dees. then i heard TJ was injured (back) given grimes history of back injuries i felt it was suitably ironic that TJ was out with one.

Cheney is stiff, and I don't get why he isn't being played ahead of Whelan. Dropping him after one game is rough.

I also don't know why we dropped Bartram for Petterd, and not for Jonesy.

Very very happy and excited to watch Watts and Jurrah go around again!

Petterd wouldnt be playing if the game was anywhere other than qld..

I'm going to guess that Jones maybe isn't quite right and they're going to wait until Saturday to see how he is. As good an explaination as any. I'd be surprised if he is running around for Casey this weekend. I'd say he'll be playing for the Dees or not at all.

Emg: N.Jones

What the?

I'm convinced that they don't rate him. They didn't rate him last year and starting him on the bench every week in a midfield like ours tells me the same thing. I think he will struggle to stay on the list definate contender for the Gold Coast. They still refuse to change their midfield though which amazes me I thought Bailey was going to keep playing Valenti what happened to that? What about giving McKenzie a go? The midfield is a joke and it's not going to change with the same faces there. What are they doing with Whelan? Are they just trying to get to 150 games? cause on form there is no way he should be getting a game.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
