Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Denzel Rocks.....Watch "The Fallen" again...what a classic!

He is great!

Saw the Mazerunner the other night and I definitely do not recommend it. Cool concept and based on a book which I haven't read (think it's aimed at teens but gets good reviews) but the script was atrocious, the acting nothing special and although the first half was watchable it spiralled into rubbish the last hour.

Jazza - is that the movie with James Franco about the end of the world and they are all at a party? I thinks it's called This is the End. If it's the same movie - I totally agree with you . What three movies were ahead of that one?

Might release my top 5,and start by nominating Anchorman 2.

Not sure if anyone's seen it, but the show that inspired me to become a filmmaker is returning in 2016, Twin Peaks. So excited. Not a film, but a DVD boxset. :P

Gone Girl. Bitter and twisted, which I thoroughly enjoy, and a very strong cast. 2 1/2 hours is a bit long, and the end seems to drag out. Maybe a function of the novelist being the screenwriter - couldn't kill her babies. A warning to those who don't like plot holes - this thing is a colander. If you can ignore the defects, it's worth a visit.

Thanks for that,on the previews at the cinema they must only show the good bits{duh}and you think the movie looks alright until somebody tells you different.

Of course the "star"of the movie is a piece of wood dud actor anyway.

I found the first half of the film predictable, but the final act was gripping and head ache-inducing. Bond girl Rosamund Pike is amazing. Fincher's direction is amazing, as is the cinematography. Reznor's score is wonderful too. A very solid watch.

I loved Gone Girl. I read the book earlier this year but still really enjoyed the movie. The cast were perfect - exactly how I pictured them while reading the novel. Not sure who's side I was on in the end....

Just spent the past three and a half weeks in the UK, Berlin, Brussels and Paris with my son. The long flights are a great chance to catch up on a few movies. Those that caught my attention were: The Chef, Pictures and Words, The Double (an odd little Brazil like film) and What We Do In The Shadows, which is a very funny and extremely well scripted mocumentary about a house shared by vampires in suburban New Zealand.

Wife made me watch the first 2. 1 I could get through, 2nd I walked away from half way through.

Someone mentioned The Intouchables earlier in the thread and on that recommendation I watched it last night and really enjoyed it.

It may have been me Cards... I'm pretty sure I mentioned it. A feel good film. A few more I could recommend are: Philomena, Chef and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (which has been around for a while now and you may have already seen).

The bluray of 20,000 Days on Earth arrived a couple of weeks ago, so I'm looking forward to getting the opportunity to sit down and watch that. Most recent viewing at home was the Hayao Miyazaki animated film, The Wind Rises... as can be expected from Miyazaki, a fantastic piece of work.

Just sat through 2.5 hours of Exodus, the new film. Not sure you should bother. If like me you had the story rammed down your throat as a child, you will know the key story points so you spend the second part of the film ticking off the events. The first hour drags a bit as they try to build the Moses vs Ramases rivalry but if you like violence it maybe your go.

The settings are done digitally but look at times very authentic. I have been to Mount Sinai where theb10 Commandments were first marketed and it looks very similar. I have seen the burning bush which when I was there was in good health, very green! It has recovered well and lives in Saint Catherine's Monastry in the Sinai. Long film, not sure you should bother.

I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but I and my son just sat through almost 3 hrs of Interstellar at the IMAX in Sydney's Darling Harbour, and loved every second of it. I'm still not sure exactly what it was I saw, so this is at the top of my future Blu Ray purchases list as it definitely warrants multiple viewings.

I saw Fury on the weekend. Set towards the end of WW2 about a group led by Brad Pitt who operated a tank. All different personalities - worked great as a team. Quite heavy stuff - but I enjoyed it

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
