I think the list is down to its lowest level in 3 years.

Sam Blease (leg) indefinite

Colin Garland (foot) indefinite

Rhys Healey (quad) 1 - 2 weeks

John Meesen (foot) indefinite

Austin Wonaesmirri (knee) 4 - 6 weeks

There's always a 426 isn't there?

You can probably add Simon Buckley who wasn't selected in any Casey team after missing last week.

Not sure why they dont come clean with Buckley. He was struggling preseason with groin related issues and is now missing again with a problem in the same area.

It is shocking news for Wona and his development curve, his season is almost shot.

Fair to say he has a bad case of the old Melbourne OP??

I saw Buckley outside the 'G before last weeks game against the Hawks and he confirmed he's struggling with OP. I read an interview with Wona that said he's revised his goals for the year and hopes to play 5 games for the Demons.

As a complete aside (and apologies for it) but couldn't help myself while we're on injury lists - Shoab Aktar reported to beon the Pakistani injury list and subsequently MIA for a GENITAL INFECTION

surely they could have come up with some kind of white lie

Has Aussie injured his hamstring or lost it?

thanks for that; it's great to get that info about Wona and Buckley.

I'm so sorry for Buckley because I wanted to see him get games this year more than any other player,

just to get more feel for the game and hopefully bring his particular skills into our game.

From what I'm reading and hearing, Wona's looking at 2010 with another great pre-season under his belt. Much like this year unfortunately. But bad luck happens.

He may be lucky to get a couple of games towards the end of the season but in the interests of 'list management', why bother? Then again, he'll be as rusty as all hell.

So aside from 3 season-enders, we've only got 2 official injuries? Must be the lowest in years. (though I'm sure Buckley's injured)

Wonnaeamirri might as well be listed as 'indefinite' if they're going to put 4-6 against his name.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
