This is totally hypothetical, but if there was a rd 4 trade week where teams could trade players would you-

Straight swap of-

Melbourne trades- Colin Sylvia

Richmond trades- Richard Tambling

I think both players need a fresh start at new clubs.

Tambling has that ongoing pressure from tiger fans that they picked him ahead of roughhead or franklin which i think is unfair on him.

I know its a tad stupid thread but i thought it would be interesting to see if people would do this trade if you called the shots and this trade week existed :)

I would be very suprised if either player will improve even at a new club. They just don't have the right mind set. We have had enough of both these players since the '70's....WALK AWAY i say.

Did anyone listen to Gary Lyon last night re CS - more or less said his time was limited

Tambling ROFL

No thanks, would rather keep Sylvia.

That would be a no. But not by so much that the difference is stark. With less body issues, Sylvia would be a better player. Tambling's problems are COMPLETELY in the head. At least with Sylvia, if he gets his body right, he MIGHT end up being of use to the club. He has played some good games.

Ha, rubbish for rubbish. Why bother?

Sad but true, next......

enjoy reading some of your stuff mate but f%#k me, Mr Tambling was summed up yesterday by Dermie beautifully. the hardest he ran all day was when he ran to the bench. he has no cofidence , limited ability, no upside

The least you could do is find an equal comparisn to Sylvia.

Two players I would really like to target in 2010 are ... Jed Adcock & Daniel Wells

Sylvia for Tambling!!!!!! That really is a no-brainer. Sylvia for anyone that has a modicum of ability, a passion for the guernsey and wants to try their guts out for the team. Or in other words, all the qualities he fails to display. Let's face it, he is not at all interested in us so the sooner he goes the sooner we may get a goer to replace him. He will possibly end up somewhere else and become a champion but I think his pathetic efforts and his lack of discipline show what he is. Wish he would prove me wrong but I won't hold my breath. Makes you nearly spew when you see the sheer guts and determination all around our club and then this wimp.

On the Tambling side I think he leaves his will at home when he goes to the game. Just another wannabe, cannabe but neverwillbe.

Why not go for someone that will be a star?? Adcock won't get too much better and Wells won't progress at all.

How about set your sights high for a Dangerfield (he'll be homesick and we can realise some poetic justice for S Thompson) or a Vezspremi or a Cotchin

Hey, who would have ever thought we'd trade Scott Thompson..? But if a player wants to go home...

But yes, I'd aim high. Very high.

sylvia has absolutely no trade value - we've spoken about this a hundred times. he's NQR, never was, never will be any good.

but, i agree as a hypothetical, i'd take tambling tomorrow..........

Sylvia and me for Judd?

You'd leave us (and Wrecker) '45? I must say I am a little disappointed ;) :D !!!

But yes, I'd aim high. Very high.

Apparently, if only other clubs were willing to aim low. That might help ;) !!!

I gather some would argue that Sylvia's problems also stem from the head, reading some comments of late.

Some suggesting he doesn't 'care' at all......how do they read that? body language?

The first time ever have I seen a trade on this site that actually puts the other team in a better position than MFC. 45 you cant be serious???? It would be a stinker of a deal for MFC. :P

Seriously, I have said elsewhere. Sylvia is not an attractive trade at all for a Club. Injury riddled, off field attitude, lack of footy smarts and few good appearances in 6 years and 72 games. He is barely worth a 3rd round pick atm. Any lower then why would you bother chasing the deal. Also given what has happened in trade week in the past few year, which MFC players in a perennially underperformed side that MFC would be happy to trade would have any currency in the market place? I would suggest none.

And why FFS, would we go for a Tambling or a Wells?? Haven't we got enough underachievers who cant win the contested ball?

Quality trades will cost you. Given where our list is at, I doubt we would give up one of our first round picks for a trade.

Dangerfield if fit and in form through his first season, would command at least a first round pick for starters. Offering them Sylvia would be embarrassing. And would he be prepared to come to MFC??

You would make a fortune reading hands. Fortune cookies would become obsolete.

Nope. No point trading trash for garbage. The only way you'd ever see a trade like this done (from a Melbourne perspective) is if Sylvia had another few years on big money left on his contract, helping us dump it. If that were the case though, the Tiges would never take it. So the answer is no. You just couldn't move someone who has produced so little in 5 3/22 years and no motor.
