AFL captains say we are bottom eight.

In a poll of captains as to who would make the top eight not one vote was cast for the Dees.

Not even Junior?

Captains didn't vote for their own club, therefore the max amount of votes was 15.

Fair enough then.

And even if he could vote for us, I'm sure he's a more realistic bloke than Bruce, Robbo, White and Neale.

Source?

It's like that with these sorts of things every year/time.

After Last years Form what is so strange about that? In the eyes of all other clubs we are out with the Garbage. The Great Percentage Booster for each team to play..

Redleg, Where did you get this from?

Melbourne...bottom 8...stop the press!!

Beat me to it Jarka......

Please tell me this isn't a surprise to anyone?

This is our current reality, and its not a big secret!!!

Why would anybody even be surprised about that?

Whilst I expect to be bottom 8 - I'll be gutted if we don't rack up a few more wins than last year ...

what did they say about whether the sun would come up tomorrow?

14 were not sure, they would take it one game at a time and are ticking all the right boxes for now!

Does this honestly surprise anyone?!

I would love to be in the top 8, but if we were to finish in 8 - 12 i would be a very happy man. If we were to finish 12 - 14 i would still look at the season as a decent campaign - thats only if we are competitive week in week out, no 100 point thrashings.

Its going to be a long road, but a great journey!

AFL captains are idiots.

15 said Carlton would make the 8 this year.

This does not prove your point at all.

If Carltank dont make the 8 this year then there will be alot questions being asked about their list and coaching.

If Judd, Fev, Gibbs, Stevens, Murphy, Kruezer remain fit and in form with a couple of others standing up then they should be able to give the 8 a real shake.

Personally, I would be happy if they dont. But I expect they will make the 8.

just for consistency sake, I'm sure the same thing was mentioned last year.

The difference this year was that it wasn't just us, fifteen captains also nominated West Coast to finish outside the eight.

Source was FoxSports.

Not as happy as me.

I expect them to finish 2nd or 3rd.

You can call me an idiot at the end of the season.

I think let every one believe we will finish last.

Go ahead under estimate us I dare you.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
