I've never liked this guy's attitude.

It seems a little irresponsible to drive into a tram when over .05 then vamoose!

Which Melb players does he manage?

Yes i Heard this Newsie this Morning. As a man in the spotlight so to speak, he must have known that running would get him into "much deeper poo"

Nixon was very High & Mighty during a lot of the Ben Cousins Fiasco I wonder whether he will be so accomdating now the Tide has Turned.

"Tool of the Week" Ricky Nixon.....

Sounds like the same advice he gave to Benny when he realised he couldn't get past the booze bus & would have to swim for it...

Saw the Picture of Nixon's Car in the "Hun" this Morning. Looks to me like he didn't hit the brakes at all. He is in Big Trouble i believe. Save the stiff Drinkies until you get Home to your Kew Mansion Ricky, Naughty Naughty...

He could rightfully manage Graham Polak.

Nice one from the 3-point line...swish...apologies for using basketball terminology in a footy forum.

edit: Should be - 6 points.

Why does everyone seem to hate Ricky Nixon? apart from the tram thing.

His willingness to negotiate contracts with the clubs through the media, he comes across as a weasel.

With Nixon, this incident will create a perfect example of "What goes around, comes around". He has given his detractors ample fodder to dine out on.

The sad thing is this is just another example of the malignant culture of alcohol and sport. Given the ruin alcohol and drugs has caused and is causing in AF, RL and other sports there is a real need to eliminate the strong cultural connection between sports players and alcohol. The fall from grace is severe and played out in front of a hungry public media jury. You would think there were enough sad examples of that. Clearly not.

There is no excuse for Nixon's rank stupidity at 45yo. He is part of the malignant culture within football codes.

Nixon is a show pony in a limited industry. Consider that most professional sports in Australia up until the 90s weren't big enough to be full-time jobs for most of the players, and most didn't need a manager. Just as the league started to grow and become more professional, he came in just at the right time and became Australia's first big sports agent. We won't see many more like him. I wouldn't want him as my agent and I know several AFL footballs who I went to HS with who have distanced themselves from his agency and him purely because of his show pony ways.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
