Major Sponsor

I have just noticed that the mfc megastore now has for sale some of the 2009 Reebok range without sponsor logos. The training tops have been on there for a while but now media polo's and a few others are on there. I would have thought if we were close to landing a sponsor we would have held this back so we could sell these with sponsor logos.

They cant hold back on it forever they need to get clothing revenue going or they will go backwards again its makes business sence to at least have somthing out there to keep the dollars ticking over. As people will start buying now in preperation for the footy season.

Also Deebest Richmond did none of the sort the Afl gave them luxbet because they turned down sports bet. Richmond did not pick up the phone the afl did. Just thought you should know.

Well if the AFL helped the Tigers get LuxBet then WHY cannot the AFL help the Demons get BetFair or some other Major Sponsor?

Nevertheless, I hope that the Demons are getting close to now signing up a brand new Major Sponsor. I was a bit worried that they never had a Major Sponsor for the NAB Cup but giving away our sponsor "space" to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal was a fantastic idea. However, once the real AFL Season starts we will definitely need to have our Major Sponsor on board with us.

If anybody has any suggestions of who could be possible Major Sponsors for the Melbourne Football Club I think we should Email our ideas to the Club.

What about Melbourne's Crown Casino? I notice that the Sydney Swans now have Star City as their sponsor on their shorts?

Or how about the ANZ Bank? Or even Telstra? I know that somebody half-jokingly mentioned them? Maybe even Virgin seeing as Richard Branson is currently setting up a Gym Franchise in Australia? There are heaps of companies out there that I'm sure would be keen to sponsor ANY Club in the AFL.

Latest rumour is that MFC will shortly announce not one but two major sponsors. Neither will be kicking in the top dollars but the combined total will exceed the sum of most single major sponsors.

I also heard that rumour. Although I doubt it will be much consolation for many on here who have waited this long, I at least am now confident that we will shortly have two co-sponsors that will add up to approximately $1.5M/year.

Thank goodness.

Lux bet (Tab) is the offical Afl beting facility that is why sports bet got rejected that is why no one else now can get another betting agent as a sponser. Sports bet has although been told that there is a possibility of joing in next year... Maybe something the dees should keep an eye on.

Has anyone ever heard of the friends of melbourne part of the MFC there would have to be a way to use the influence in this to draw a major sponser.

Question was there not a partnership between snickers or was that more of a gimmic for the footy show??? I think the Richard Branson Gyms would be great if we could get sponsered by them.

They're called Virgin Active

I'm not going to have a go at the club because I don't expect an update until things are signed, sealed and delivered, but I'm running out of fingernails to chew. I need to know soon that all that tin rattling wasn't in vain.

I heard Greg Deham also this morning. He spoke about a deal that was pretty good almost being finalised and also a fallback deal that although not as lucrative as the other one, would still be OK. He said it is very unlikely we will begin the real season without a major sponsor, but it won't be as good as the $8 million over 4 years that we thought we had done with Mission Foods.

He finished the discussion predicting the announcement within 2 weeks as said by loges.

Well that all sounds good. But we've been hearing rumours and speculation for weeks now, so it's hard to get excited about this.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
