So on the Front page of the Age this Morning & the Sports Section Rohan Connolly wrote a Huge Story on the Return of James Hird. All based on Nothing!! Had he spoken at all to Hird Nope not a word. Heard James on the Radio this morning. Lets just say he was [censored] off & rightlly so. Connolly should be ashamed of himself. I have worked in a news room years ago & in many places he would have been sacked. All Future credibility on Rohan Connolly articles should be taken with a grain of salt. His Sources are obviously not good. Front page of the Age-to be rebuked by 7.30 AM !! You are a pillow Connolly Hang your Head. The Age CEO's will be Furious!! Stay Tuned

You're 100% right. It's absolutely disgraceful and more befitting a football internet fan site than a prestigious newspaper like the Melbourne Age. We should be running people like Connolly (Rohan not Chris) right out of town!

Apparantly he was just writing on information he received from people at the club. Wanted to get the story out before the HUN ran with it.

Just shows what lengths will be taken for an exclusive!

There are three reasons why people buy the Herald Sun.

1. They like pretty pictures and can't read.

2. They believe celebrity/sportsperson gossip constitutes "news".

3. They like pretty pictures and can't read.

One apparent reason why people like to "read" the Age: -

1/ Like to be wrongly informed of incorrect information, through irresponsible and thoughtless information and lack of research.

2/ Don't like pretty pictures.

'Wrongly informed of incorrect information'? :o

Edit - obligitary paper wars jab: You must buy the Herald Sun!

Admit it ! You people don't like to read The Age because;

- Your breakfast table is too small

- Your arms aren't long enough

- Your computer stuffed eyes, corrected by spectacles, can't scan the reaches of that broad, broad sheet.

- You can't connect the headline to the article, after 3 paragraphs, because all articles are in novel form.

Don't give me crap about puzzles, piccies, connollies, and caros, and journos who run out of petrol on the page, metaphorically speaking.

Answer: Both.

Edit answer: Buy and/or read both. ;) (Stir the pot occassionally)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
