Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You're all a bit harsh i think

Prismall in any other side would dominate, purely because of the time

You have to remember he came into the geelong side, and started performing straight away, carrying his form in vfl through.

Prismall is a good, honest player. Nothing fantastic, but performs his role reasonably well in a very, very good side. I wouldn't mind him playing a role in our side too.

But I'm with goodoil. If we even look near our first 3 picks in suggesting a trade for Prismall, then we're stuffed. He's just not that good, and those picks in this draft are worth a lot.

I think Prismall is a very handy player and would slot into our midfield quite nicely.

But under no circumstances are any of our first 3 picks going anywhere. We shoud be trying to get one more top 20 pick, not trading them away. Would trade our 3rd round pick for him, or possibly PSD.

I hope you are true.. The kid can play...... Wouldnt wanna give up much for him...

If Warnock goes to Carlton then we oculd use our #1 pick...

Let me ask a question though. Nathan Thompson.. Could we use him to sit in the forward line for 2 years... He's obviously old but we could use a nothing pick on him and actually have a big target to kick it too..... At the very least it could be damage control.

Giving up High Draft picks for a player who has jus done an ACL & who has had trouble getting a reguliar game, regardless of the Team is highly Dangerous i believe. A 25+ pick & nothing less please MFC

I would hope the club and its people in charge of recruiting are not that silly to begin with, we would be crazy to offer Geelong anything better than our 3rd round pick as we are taking him when he still has a year on the side lines in front of him

Even then I'll pass. If he didn't do his ACL, I'll consider it but our 4th round pick (50ish) is the earliest i would offer. Geelong would be better off keeping him.

out of interest did you go up to him and say you were a melbourne supporter? or did he mention this of his own will?

He wasnt really recognised by anybody there, so I was just having a chat to him about everything in general. Asked how the knee was, about the dissapointment of the timing of the injury etc.

I knew he was out of contract, so I just asked what his plans were for the future. He said he had been approached by us, and we had offered 3 years. He was all for it, if a deal could be done. However, the way he was speaking he seemed he would be happy to head for the PSD.

I didnt mention I was a Melbourne supporter until he said we had been speaking to him.

Seems like a great bloke, easygoing and doesnt seem to have taken playing AFL to his head. Just happy to have a chat.

I dont understand why people are having a crack saying its immature for speaking to a "stranger". He has shown interest in our interest, and if all goes to plan, will be a Demon in 09 and beyond.

It doesnt change anything before or after- look at nick malceski FFS..12 weeks later..played out the season. back to normal now

he will be doing everything he can to get it right..the players that dont come back from those injuries are the ones that think- thats the end of my career..or if they've done it before

thankyou- DB and the footy dept, connolly etc arent stupid, they know what we need and want.

Look at Geelong- corey, ablett and bartel- aren't speedy players- sure ablett can be flashy- wojinski is v quick, but he cannot kick for [censored]. but didnt we just recruit some fitness people in from essendon- who aside from the conspiracies that they were responsible for the soft tissue injuries at essendon- will have our guys in tip top shape, as we only have a handful on modified programs

i cannot believe that not many here want prismall

he will be worth it

Prismall has had a full reco, Malceski didnt't. That aside, Prismall ain't that good.

Actually he is very good.

Would get a game ahead of Bartram, Bell, CJ and Valenti for starters.

I think that some supporters that rate themselves as reasonably clued up when it comes to footy can go the other way and overly denigrate a player from an opposing side.

I think Prismall is far better than some on here are suggesting and would be a good pick up. I agree that our good picks are off limits.

wat was his speed b4 hes injury and predict wat it would be like fully recovered

Before his injury his speed was average in my opinion. Like a Brock McLean. Not fast, but you wouldn't call him slow either.

From the start when he got to Geelong he has been touted as the second coming of Buddha Hocking (by Geelong people)

People do forget that even though he'll be able to play in a year's time, the majority of players that suffer this type of injury take another year of playing to get their confidence in their body back.

You're probably looking at 2 years before he returns to his form before the injury.

FWIW i think he WAS a quality player, its more a question of whether we want to/ can wait for him to get back to his best.

Spoke to Brent Prismall last night at the Geebung, and yes, straight from his mouth came the words that he is going to be a Demon in 09 and beyond.

Said the Cats offered him 2 years, and we have offered him 3. He wants opportunity, which he cannot see himself getting at the Cats.

So he wants to be a Demon, it just has to happen.

Call me whatever you like, it came straight from him.

Also in attendance last night at the Geebung were many Saints boys, and a one Michael Voss.

I have made a few calls, and it seems an offer has been made last week..

From all reports we are the only other club he is considering..

Alot of work to be done though, especially on trade talks and etc.. must wait until next week for cats..

SHame about the injury though..

If it is true, and I doubt it, it says something about the maturity level of Prismall.

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
