..........would we rather lose him for nothing or try and get a pick around 40? have a think

Officially he will play his last game for MFC on Saturday. He has dubious future ahead of him in the AFL. So would a another club give pick 40 or prefer to get him in the PSD for nothing? I cant see them lining up to give up draft picks for White in the last tainted draft before GC comes in.

The simple reality is that after Sunday's game neither player has any real effective currency to Melbourne. They can walk into the PSD..and do whatever they like and good luck to both of them. It'll be totaly up to teh football Gods.and we were never going to get anything in return as they cease to be ours. They can do as they please. Its not worth any paper to try to get anything..

we just move on..as simple as that

The only way we'll get anything for White (or Yze if he decides to play on) is if multiple clubs want them. If Carlton and Sydney both wanted Jeff White, Sydney would have to offer something for him or else they'd just lose him to Carlton (who will have a better PSD pick than them). This would cause the Blues to consider offering something better than the Swans are. At least, that's how I understand it.

Yze wore 44 as Shaun Smith Took that HUGE Grab at the Gabba

Correct. 1995.

Why would we get anything for White when we have already said we don't want him?

 That will come down to clubs like Carlton and Sydney - if they require his services. If Sydney want him they will have to offer a draft pick. Because Carlton will have a pick before Sydney in the PSD.

Incorrect - you cant trade delisted players. Both have indicated they will nominate for the draft!

They are still on our list atm, and will be during trade week.

Cast your mind back less than a year to a similar circumstance with King and others at Geelong.

Right. It's the same deal with Damien Peverill. If a couple of clubs happen to want to pick him up for a year or two, Essendon could still get something for him.

On the MFC website you can leave a message for Ooze and Whitey, which will go into a book to be presented to them on Sunday. A brilliant idea, assuming one of CC's.

No. Only if they do not get a trade completed- they will nominate for the draft. Still on our list come trade time.

Roger that!

Dear dear, I stand corrected. The MFC can token trade to try and find then a home a la Peter Walsh and Stephen King. Now that every AFL club knows they will not be on the list, they are hardly going to offer anything other than circa pick 95 (which we would not use) when they can pick them up for nowt in the PSD!

Ie they have zero trade value.

Having said that - best of luck to both of them!

Hey, it's the internet. Everyone reserves the right to nitpick.

Congratulations to both Yze and White on long and distinguished careers at the MFC. Reading the tribute to Ooze on the MFC website just now, you forget how good a player he was.

An interesting aside, with the retirements of these two, it leaves just one All-Australian representative (one 1 occasion) on our list for next year in Junior. Would any other club boast such a desolate figure?

Congratulations to Both Jeff and Adem on wonderful careers at the Demons......

They were and will always will be legends of our club and have performed admirably for the club over so many years.

I wish them all the best for the future at the same time as thanking them for their past.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
