With the result of last night's game, it's a virtual certainty that Essendon will finish 12th and receive draft pick # 5. The Bombers cannot finish lower than 12th and given that the Blues have won an extra game and have a substantially higher percentage, they cannot fall lower than 11th. Ironical that the team that tanked in 2007 cannot achive anything by tanking their last two games this year. The draft order for 2008 therefore is:-

1 ?

2 ?

3 ?

4 ?

5 Essendon

6 ?

7 ?

9 ?

For MFC to finish 15th, we'd have to beat the tiggies by 10 goals and WCE lose by 12 goals... not gonna happen.

Richmond playing for a possible finals spot. they beat hawks.... they are a better them than us

wow i didnt think thats what had to happen with how many goals we had to win by and them to lose.

Richmond cant make the finals as St Kilda won last week.

The top 8 is set in stone

Or a more realistic scenario would be Melbourne winning by 3 goals and WCE losing to Geelong by 20 goals.

Exactly. That would result in WCE in winning the spoon too.

If Geelong don't beat West Coast by more than 100 points they will have done badly.

I have a feeling some of the Richmond players will be thinking: 'finals are over, who cares if we win, we're gonna finish 9th', and they might take their mind of the game a bit. Melbourne will be 100% committed to getting a win (which doesn't help us, but anyway). So I think there is a small but significant chance of a Melbourne win.

If Geelong win by 110 points +, I won't be able to sleep Saturday night.

Ideally for us we would love West Coast to get within 60 points against Geelong, so we can enjoy a win on Sunday.

I can't decide whether to I want Collingwood to lose this week, or go deep into September but not win the flag (so that their first pick is later in the draft).

Yep, that's right HT. North finished lower than Adelaide on the ladder, meaning they finish 8th overall, Adelaide finish 9th.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
