I watched the Game Saturday with a well known Player Manager who told me that according to those in the industry and by the enquiries on what players are available 8 players will be gone by the cut off in October we already know tof 3 players that will retire Neitz Holland Yze and likely White.

Carlton are very keen on Jamar (the Riley connection ) they are desperate for a ruckman as Kruezer is not ready Warnock is almost certain to play with us next season along with Alwyn Davey who wants out at Essendon ,apparently a personality clash with Knights and there will be 2 delistings and 2 Player swaps Collingwood are also very keen to trade.

Last year at the same game info given to me by this person that turned out correct .

He also told me that Greg Hutchison will be ipart of the coaching staff with the Gold Coast they were very impressed with his interview.

Any thoughts on which players would be likely to go.

I'd be stoked if we got Alwyn, Warnock and Watts.

Davey Miller Bate

Wonnaemirri Watts Davey

Imagine the excitement factor if nothing else

Would love to get Alwyn in Red and Blue.

Would certainly sure up Aaron for the future too.

Exciting, but that fwd line appears a little small. But gee its fast.

Interesting about Hutchy good on him if its true. Wouldn't surprise me about Jamar to Carlton. It seems a good "marriage". Hopefully he really kicks on in the next few games to increase from a 3rd round to a 2nd round pick. It could be pick -/+ 25 or so.

That all sounds great.

I reckon White will be thrown a lifeline by another club. Possibly St Kilda replacing Gardiner or Sydney replacing Everitt. Could be a third round pick in it for us.

Hopefully we don't give up too much for Davey / Warnock if true.

Not that short. Miller and Watts are the main targets, Bate is the 3rd tall and then you have a ridiculous amount of pace and skill at ground level.

Yes, I've touted the Everitt retirement being imminent, and White maybe to Sydney- it may suit him at 31. Sydney would want 2 experienced ruckmen next year. As you say, St.Kilda could well be in the picture too. Gardiner is struggling - then again he always has.

Unless your doing a 2 for one, you aren't freeing up a spot on the list.

I would like to know where Carroll's contract is at, Meesen's too and where Whelan's head is at? Does he want to go around and do another Preseason?

As romantic as it would be to have both Daveys playing side by side- we dont really need anothert injury prone small forward, who has already had 2 major injuries!!!!

Add to that, Daveys injury + a unlucky season (injury wise) and were stuffed!!!

WOuld be very quick and handy YES, but if it goes wrong its really going to go wrong

The Essendon Davey is harder and more a mid than ours. I can see benefits as we could do with more midfield pace, but I'm not too fussed either way.

Bye bye Mark :)

I've been impressed by Alwyn when he has played on the ball. Imagine one Davey forward and one in the guts at all times. Reckon he is worth a second round pick though which worries me. Unless Essendon is interested in Bell or Sylvia.

Jamar is contracted, I know he can still be traded, but it might be a factor. Could have another Ferg situation. He might not want to go to Carlton.

I think he's stronger than Aaron, but Aaron is certainly more of a midfielder. Don't think Alwyn has had 20 touches in a game yet.

Yep. Aaron's stronger and more of a midfielder.

I'm not sold on Warnock I'm not convinced he will be the star alot are predicting and his stuffed shoulder is a worry but if we can get him without giving up to much i'm all for it.

I've quite liked the Jamar/PJ ruck duo and would be happy with the club to persist with those two as starters.

This Alywnn Davey rumour just won't die down. Whilst I don't think it will happen it would be absolutely fantastic to secure his services. For ppl who say we can't have 2 Davey's in the same side, that's bullcrap. You only have to look at the dynamic due of Thomas and Campbell from the Roos, there virtually the same player.

On a side note and this doesn't really mean anything at all, a few months ago when on the MFC wesbite they had Riv's Roast, Aaron Davey was being interviewed. In it they spoke about Alwynn being selected for the Rep Match, the way Jarrod was talking about him it seemed as if they knew each other quite well, refering to him as Froggy.

If we were to aquire Warnocks services it would be great to see Jamar go to Carlton.

Imagine Davey, Warnock and 3 picks inside the top 20. [censored].

I, like many others on here, also live for this....

8? Hmmm.....

Bode. Weetra. Holland. Yze. Neitz. White. - An easy six.

And I hate thinking about who we would trade. Because everyone is someone's favourite. Jamar has come along really well this year. Sylvia is a fav of mine, I wear the #12 with pride (every second week or so). Argh, I hate it! Yet I love it!

It still has me stuffed why people think Alwyn is better than Aaron?!?!?! I realise there is about 70 games of experience difference, but surely Alwyn has done nowhere near enough to be rated as highly as some people rate him!

I would take both of them in the same side any day of the week (preferably Saturday) ;) But I think Aaron doesn't get the respect he deserves from some people... The kid has suffered some terrible luck with injuries over the last few years, but on what we have seen, I rate Aaron well above his brother ATM

aarons first season was breathtaking

IMO, better than cyril because i think he got a goal in everygame in his first season

could we have wonna, davey, davey and maric all in the one team??

btw, alwyn davey is about 24/25...he's not young

there is an under 23 policy isnt there?

i get exited too easily and i dont want to see maric or wonna being pushed out

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
