1. WCE - Naita.

2. MELB - Rich.

3. FREO - Yarran.

18. MELB - Vickery.

In a dream world :)

Fantastic. It's started already and it's still July!

Since you mentioned it, here's a bit of WAFL watch.

Daniel Rich had only 9 touches (4 kicks and 5 handballs), 1 mark and kicked a goal in Subiaco's big win at the weekend. In another game, Swan Districts had at least four major draft hopefuls in their team including Nick Naitanui whose states of 4 kicks, 9 handballs, 1 mark and 10 hit outs were nothing special. Chris Yarran had 9 kicks, 4 handballs 2 marks and a goal while Neville Jetta got 13 disposals (7 kicks) and 3 marks. The best of them statistically was Clancee Pearce with 13 kicks 10 hanballs 6 marks and 2 goals.

Time to have another look at Pearce's performance for WA in the Under 18 final match. His stocks could be rising.

Pearce was a good performer in the telstradome game who took the notice of my comrade as well as hill & walters, however I believe it's not just about how the're performing at the state carnival nor at their respective clubs, thats why we have the canberra athletic screening.

The recruiters allready know who is a footballer & who isn't naturally & needs to be taught. The blank canvass is a huge part of the equation as to which players are most likely to cope well against the cut 'n' thrust of AFL.

Naitanui = athletic prowess. Rich = football smart, - ?? Watts = athletic, good footballer, ???

There are reasons why players stand out in the crowd, but doesn't necessarily mean they'll make it.

am i the only one who doesn't rate rich and hopes we dont use our first pick on him!!?

Yes and no dazzler...

I do rate Rich, but I rate Watts and to a lesser extent Naita as well. But I hope we take Watts over him...

'dazzledavey36', I rate niknat as well but will be a project player for at least 1.5 - 2.5 years before being able to take advantage of his talents on a regular basis. That is why i've put him at 5 to the dons who allredy have a top ruckman & are rebuilding an allready 1/2 built young list. They I think are in the Ideal position for nat. They have had recent success so the pundits will be patient with a player like nat who I think won't be ready to go seniors for a little while.

So in saying all that I put him just behind the ready to go group of Rich, Hartlett, Ziebell & probably Watts, (watts may need a little while as he's bottom age but talented & probably could do with some physical work on his body to harden up.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
