Carroll would be of some interest to clubs like Fremantle, Adelaide maybe. Pick 20-40 would be good!

He can't get a game for the bottom side so why would another club be interested in giving up pick 20-40 for him?

Can't see Adelaide, with Rutten and Bock, and Fremantle, who I'd think would know all about Carroll's off-field exploits, being interested at all.

CJ is a definate no.

Hes going to be as good as Travis, give it time.

Oh dear. No one is definite no particularly an underperfomer like CJ.

Carroll is a hack and a renowned culture sore and no Club would touch him with a bargepole!

I refuse to call a 21 year old with very limited opportunities an underperformer.

As for Carroll, I agree he has no trade value but personally I'd keep him.

Its your call. But he has had three coaches during that time and he has failed to deliver. He is 22 and is in his fifth year at the Club. Excuses like that for his underperform are wearing thin.

Carroll is contracted for 2009. He will probably be a big hit for Casey next year.

Are you sure?

He was widely reported as trade bait last year and wasn't re-contracted then, so that would mean he was originally signed on a 3 year contract. Surely not......

Mobile texting is killing the written word.

Agree, I find it hard to take someone serious when the write shod instead of should, dat instead of that, I mean it's fine for texting because it's saving you money but I find it hard to not think bad things and I'm not even good at spelling myself nor constructing sentences.

Defianetly agree with Prismall. Remember him carving us up last year, kicking 3 goals through the midfield. Pick 18 or 19 for him would be a good trade that geelong would jump at, and we'd get a great asset to our midfield. Prismall has been very unlucky not to get games for the Cats.

I'd also put in Issac Weetra as a sweetner..

I understand that he is contracted for 2009. I am not sure when that contract was signed. If it was a 3 yr contract, I hope we are paying no more than if we signed him for 2 years. He was offered up at the trade table last year as a "punt" and drew no more than a snigger from opposing camps.

It would make winning less than 5 games for the year important so we can get the priority pick before the 2nd round.

Then we would be looking at:

Pick 1-2: One of Naitanui, Rich, Watts

Trade 2nd Rounder (18-20) to Geelong for Prismall

Pick 17

PSD Pick 1: Warnock

As others have said Warnock and Prismall.

I doubt we'd have anyone we'd be willing to trade that either of these teams want, there is no standout like TJ last year, Bruce would not fit into Geelong or Freo's plans and I doubt MFC view him as tradeable anyway. So you'd be looking at picks or picks plus a player, perhaps Bell.

If we could get either of them I'd be stoked.

My point exactly.

Anyway what I meant was Chris wouldnt be traded unless it was a top 10 pick, IMO. And that aint happening.

I wonder how Prismall would be going for us this season, if we had him.

In strong teams, it can be easier to come in and play well when you get the opportunities (games + game time), because you don't come in for much attention.

I'd say the club would throw White, Jamar, Bell and Carroll on the table, but they wouldn't attract much attention from other clubs. The problem with our trading position is, given our position on the ladder, most of our players would not be rated highly by other clubs, so weare better off trying to develop them rather than offload them.

Players worth a look for the dees would include Mundy (one of the best kicking techniques for a player his size I've seen, despite a previous post), Warnock (a chance in the PSD), maybe Prismall (looks good with the footy, but I'm not convinced he will become a good player), and maybe a relatively untried tall struggling to get a game at a Hawthorn or Brisbane, where their spine is set. If we are after a good skilled, mostly outside midfielder, rather than Prismall, I'd like to get Riggio from North, however I wouldn't have a clue about his contract situation.

Also, I'm going to take the opening post as a joke, and assume it was meant that way.

I don't know anything about Riggio. How quick is he? What sort of opportunities is he getting at the Roos?

White is the best player we have picked up outside the national draft. We don't have a good record with picking up players in the trade period of pre season draft.

Nor do other Clubs.

Generally the PSD has been a bit of hope and pray wasteland with little depth and a bit of punt for all.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
