well Yze Magic, any thoughts on this comment of yours?

If Chris Johnson somehow transforms into a good league footballer that can impact games or even just play a role, then I would say that Dean Bailey is a greater teacher of men than Jesus himself once was.

Alas, the chances of Chris Johnson becoming a serious league footballer are about 4 billion to 1.

Can Dean Bailey turn water into wine?

We will see this Sunday, cos this is surely Johnsons last chance.

4 billion to 1 ?

think it's time to go buy a tattslotto ticket...

Great game today. Glad to see the coach playing him where he excelled as a junior.

Yeah he played well today.

The jury is still out though.

I'm getting sick of expert supporters putting lines through players names each week.........let's leave it for the people who know better at the club!

Mate, It was a great game, but 1 18 possi game make a player does not!!

He showed today what we all knew..

I said we should look @ trading him if he doesnt show something in this half of the year, I also said I really hope he does, as I was so excited when we got him!!

Ur CJ comment, was far worse champ!! "those who throw stones" my man!

I guess i mean i wish he would play 4 quarters without the lapses in concentration that occur in his game.

He'll do a smart thing, then often follow it up with a poor decision

Yup..

He plays alot beta when he just lets his instinct run things, but looks like sometimes, when he

overthinks things, he can make the wrong decision, but that will come!!

jury is not still out, he's proven over the last few weeks he CAN PLAY the game

Yeah can play, not always plays. There's been plenty of players that have looked the goods early on but haven't found consistency and have ended up on the couldabeens list. Good luck to em but they won't have truly made it til they can put in 88 quarters a year (or close enough)

Y_M, all Sylvia has done is better his 'Trade Bait' price; instead of 4th/5th round, now maybe 3rd/4th. If he keeps this up, we might get a 1st/2nd round pick for him.

To stay at MFC, he needs to play well consistently, AND convince the footy dept he is part of their plans. The latter won't be easy given his record.

I think the FD wants him to be agood, so they will persist, and ATM he is slowly rearding their faith...

a few more 4 goal hauls, along with 2-3 25 possie games in the guts towards the end of the year will signal his arrival... i want 20 goals for the rest of the year

yeah, cos today is the only good game he has played all year.

And you forgot the 4 goals by the way.

I agree. Not taking anything away from his game today, but he's still got a fair way to go.

The magic being spun here is gold!

Like the club in bursting at the seams with players that can actually have an influence on games at the moment.

And some of the scientists on here want to kick out a player who has been seriously injury prone early in his career, who was a high draft pick who is still only 22 for some mid range draft pick now that he is finally starting to get on the ground consistently and deliver on his promise.

Is it just me, or is the absurdity beyond belief?

Telling me I'm missing something here.

Lucky for you and me, Dean Bailey isnt as stupid as these Sylvia-bashers.

If Bailey can make players out of Miller, Garland, CJ, Buckley etc.. it is scary to think how good he will make Colin Sylvia.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
