Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

So what about Troy Chaplin..you happy with that?

Couldn't care less... he rejected Richmond to come to us, so I have no doubts where his allegiences lie http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-05/troy-chaplin-rejects-tigers-for-demon-coaching-role).  Our season is over, he obviously still has good friends that are with the Tigers, so let him enjoy a little time off.

How do you feel about our players going out and getting [censored] during the off season?

and those bloody unpatriotic Australian crickets who dare to go to the english change rooms post game and have a bevy...an utter disgrace - clearly not patriotic when they lose, but when they win. Don't give anyone an inch ever, don't form friendships elsewhere and don't dare work for other colours than yer own...

I'm on board with Simon Goodwin.  I think he's got a vision, appears to have good relations with players and coaches and produced a good result under very difficult conditions with injuries this year. I like his calm demeanour in the box and in the media.   I was bitterly disappointed in the R23 result and other poor losses to North x2, Freo and Hawthorn and it shows we have some way to go in "the journey" - but we are on the way.

I've bought into the contest being the key to winning premierships and the last 2 GFs vindicate this where contested ball stats - Richmond 170 v Adelaide 140 and Dogs 172 v Swans 149 - the less talented but more competitive team won both times.

We are decent at contested ground balls but we are pathetic at the aerial contest - we were outpointed countless times this season down the line.  Recruiting Lever and getting Hogan back will go some way to address this.  But we must generally improve across the board in this area.

The residual concern I have is about our turnovers going forward outside defensive 50.  Far too many times we missed easy open targets or kicked 15m half-volleys to open players who were then under pressure for the next disposal. When we turn it over, we have to work extremely hard back the other way and this saps our competitive energy.  It doesn't seem like "ball movement" is a priority to the FD - maybe we can't have everything - it will be interesting to see how it plays out next year.

I dont see the need to be either On Board , or not with Goodwin.

Im onboard with the MFC. I'm also aboard the reality bus. Reality is we are the Ninemons. A very middle of the road team at present with some. claims to be going somewhere..maybe.

Simon Goodwin may or may not turn out a very good and successful coach.

Im critical of some aspects whilst glad to see others implemented. Currently im not wildly excited.Others welcome to be

I'm on board, I am sitting near the front of the bus (I get motion sickness on long journeys) and I am asking 'why did you do that?'

'That's a missed turn...'

'This bus doesn't have enough midfielders'

Clarkson is a hawthorn person now tho isn't he? 100 per cent. Culture builder. He wouldn't be coming to Melbourne football club premiership parties, because he is committed to the club that employs him. Same with Dimma.  He has bought into the culture. As far as I am concerned, if you work or play for a club, you are 100 per cent committed to that club. End of story

No, not end of story.

You can be just as committed to your club as you are to those with whom you've forged strong relationships at other clubs. And when all is said and done, when the parochialism of the season is over, why not.

Just ask your 'culture builder'  Clarko, who is pictured here arm in arm with Dimma straight after the game on Sat.

So true. Dimma and Clarko worked together. Friends can be foes on the grass and be close afterwards.

Sock in it 36 please

FWIW I agree with @Leoncelli_36 about Lily Mithen and Troy Chaplin - overt display of support for another club is just not on.  Heart beats true!

Thanks for the support. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I believe it is a poor look. Those drawing comparison to Clarko have missed the point...Clarkson isn't wearing a Richmond scarf or jacket or anything to identify himself as a Richmond fan. He is there as Dimmas mate. In support of a personal relationship. Chaplin and Mithen are on the mFc payroll and are in public sporting another clubs colours. It tells me they not comitted Melbourne people. The end.

I think you mean "Everyone is entitled to an opinion" as long as it aligns with yours... your response to WYL's "opinion" that he doesn't really care, says it all:

"Geeez you are daft. It's not about women''s league vs men's league ..I am pointing out that we seem to have a number of people working for the club that are not die hard demons. This does not happen at other clubs. "

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
