  1. If we are last at the end of next year then we are Fk'd. People get too caught up in high picks, there is quality kids out there, we just have to find them. Cut Tapscott and co and go find some country kids. Draft picks don't mean sh*t, we are a good example of this, we need to create our own culture. We live in the era of the 'entitlement generation' and the MFC has been a good example of this, we need to change this. We will be better in the long term without a PP, stop relying on the AFL and stand alone.
  2. I like this move, I love Pia. Getting quality talent back at the club. Also, welcome back Brad aswell.
  3. I want to smash Leunbergers missus, what a good sport, did she just give him the knuckles. She's a keeper Luey.
  4. Sydney never received a leg up with any picks in the past decade, yet they've remained consistent and strong. They have remained consistent and strong due to receiving extra coin, which is what the AFL have given us. We shouldn't complain, both Essendon and Adelaide are not even in the first two rounds, yet they'll manage just fine. Yes we are a fair bit behind them, but we have talent at the club, talent to come into the club and we just have to believe that Roos will turn things around.
  5. Fk the priority, Fk the AFL, we need to become less dependent on the AFL. This assistance package needs to be the last thing we receive off the AFL. Hopefully Roos can push us over 40,000 members and 50,000 before he is done - in around 5 years. It is possible, we are the oldest club in the competition and the proudest, we could become a force. We won't become a force being dependent on the AFL, we need to build our club. It's time the MFC fought tooth and nail to get some respect. When we get respect, power and success, then we can do what the big 3 do - and run the comp.
  6. Definitely and if you look at this draft, it's fairly even across the board to 20, it's a good year to have pick 20.
  7. It depends who slips I guess.. If we did have those picks, Jones would be a big show. Due to his past fortnight, it now seems that Jones most likely won't be there at 30, so if we do want him we'd have to take him earlier. I think we'd all be happy to take Zak Jones as our priority gift anyway. It will be interesting though if a player the quality of Sheed, Crouch or Dunstan slip outside the first round.
  8. Sorry, I meant for pick 1, I should've clarified, it was something I read the other day. IMO journo's have decent credibility at the moment because someone is leaking them privy information out of the AFL - as we seen throughout the drug saga. If we were to land pick 19, it would be a tremendous result, I can't remember a year where the difference between pick 2 and pick 19 is so minimal. It's a very even draft, evidenced by some experts having blokes like Crouch as low as 3 and as high as 20, same with Sheed.
  9. Reports out of AFL house say that we won't be receiving a PP.
  10. Clubs are whinging so we won't get pick 1. That is ok, we will receive our PP after the first round - and in an EVEN draft that is a fairly good result. Clubs will still complain, but it's a fair result. People bag Andy D at the drop of a hat, but this is the sh*t he has to contend with day in day out, sides whinging 24/7 about other sides, etc. I guess that is even a good day for the bloated one, no wonder he was laughing about midgets.
  11. If Aish hasn't pondered the possibility that he might land at St Kilda, then he isn't human. Blind Freddy can see that St Kilda are in deep trouble the next few years.
  12. Not with pick 20 in this draft there isn't. I have no doubt at all that a quality kid will slip out the first round. It's an even top 20, from 1-20 it's very even. I think if we want Jones we need to trade into the 30's.
  13. I agree with most your list without even being too bias.
  14. Paul Roos one if - if not the most - respected bloke in the football world. We should land some mids and if we don't, it's not panic stations, there are some quality mids in the draft.
  15. GWS was always going to be a risk, but why not back our sport against other sports? Who cares where it is, the AFL is the biggest sport in the land. If the GWS fails, then it won't be because the franchise was started there, but because the AFL failed to market their product properly. The tanking and drug issues funnel into each other, in that basically both can be avoided if organizations are run in an ethical manner. Look at Port, Swans and Cats and look how those organizations are run compared to how Essendon, Melbourne are run, the difference is they don't take short cuts. Buckley appears to have realized that Collingwood was a long way behind in terms of quality personal - that is why he is making drastic shifts to inject quality people. Most say Vlad is a dictator and that he has got it all wrong, but they fail to put themselves in his boots and see what he is up against. The strong clubs push their own agenda to the detriment of the comp and Vlad does not let that happen. Vlad can never really win though, because for the AFL to be run to the best of it's ability, clubs need to be more ethical and run more professionally. But for Vlad to keep above the game, he cannot afford to always do that himself, that is why he cannot win. But overall he is the best man for the job at present.
  16. Nothing surprising on that page, just your typical uneducated sociopath. One thing that sticks out reading through any of it is that Jurrah seems to think talent alone is something to hang his hat on. Good luck with being talented Liam, whilst you are talented and not working hard, there is blokes out there with half your talent, working hard that would run rings around you. More to the game than just having good skills.
  17. I wouldn't have Zak Jones anywhere near my top 20.
  18. The AFL has already got their media to answer the question for us, it's died down now. We won't be receiving a priority pick.
  19. Considering we offered Scully a massive amount, I'd much rather offer someone like Dusty that type of benjamin. At least Martin already has the points on the board. Dusty is a more dominant player than Cotchin and Lids. When Jake King has blokes like Toby Mitchell hanging around Richmond, there is little wonder Dusty wants out. The temptation is just too much. Welcome to Demonland Dustbin.
  20. All these journalists trying to shape public perception of what they want to happen, pedaling their own agendas. If we don't get a priority pick, it's not because we didn't deserve one, but rather because the AFL let their decision be made by the journalists and public.
  21. Sloane is one player, whereas Roos is about to re-structure our whole football department, amongst other things. Not saying Rory wouldn't be a good get and obviously the Crows are keen to get another Crouch amongst their ranks.
  22. I'd be interested to hear if Jack trained with his sister growing up and before he got drafted. Train slow, run slow and perhaps we have to work harder with Jack than others.
