  1. Both had great years, excellent recruiting and with a full pre-season into Dean Kent look out. Excellent recruiting Todd.
  2. Eade is such a sook, first he wanted the job but didn't want to go through an interview process. Then he goes through and interview process and when it looks like he won't get the job - he pulls out. All to protect poor Rodneys ego. I see why Rocket has never been a success as a coach, he is inherently weak, cannot take criticism and most likely always has to be right.
  3. Because Selwood has the luxury of sitting under the best ruck combo ever seen. I'd probably even look good sitting under Cox and Nick Nat. Selwood's inside game is not like that of Joel's and will never reach that level. People say Rory Sloane is a B grader, if that is the case, then Scott Selwood is a C grader and I wouldn't give up pick 2 for a C grade player.
  4. Selwood for pick 2 is probably the most ridiculous thing I've heard.
  5. We got Dawes, Clark and Jamar out most the year and we wonder why we can't win games.
  6. Football runs in their blood, I don't underestimate football genetics. Both kids have performance on the board and look to have all the other tools, Kelly is far better than Scully by foot. If we got a PP, I'd like for us to take the both, but I'd understand if we took a Crouch/Sheed type or traded the PP for an established player. As for Trengove, he certainly hasn't lived up to his high rating, but hopefully if Roos can get the gig, he can turn him around.
  7. He is nothing but a passive-aggressive little maggot, he has subtle indirect digs at easy targets and pretends to take the moral high ground. I can't stand people like Whateley. Much prefer Robbo, at least he is direct to the point and doesn't mince his words.
  8. No, we shouldn't... Both Aish and Kelly are football blue bloods - with performances on the board. Both have talent, performance, genetics and in Kellys case an insane work ethic - can't speak for Aish, I haven't seen enough of him to comment on his work ethic. It's a different situation completely from Trengove and Scully. Scully is more of an athlete than a footballer and got where he did based more on hard work - not genetics and talent, Kelly has both. Trengove I'm not sure, I think you'll be hard up to find any recruiter who would not of taken Jack Trengove in the top 2. Even people I know from SA still maintain that Trengove will make it, because a kid can't be that good - and now look like rubbish.
  9. One year contract with an option of continuing on with the MFC in a coaching or development role of some sort. By all reports, Cross is the most professional player in the game, give this guy a purpose after football and he will repay us tenfold. I'd love us to get Cross involved at our club, not so much as a player - but for what he can offer in terms of development.
  10. Let's not forget that Voss' monumental trade bungles in his first year, it's hard to have confidence in that bloke going forward. No matter how much Voss improved, he was still that man. Voss needed more of a grounding, perhaps he will get another crack at coaching down the road, but he needs to get some more experience.
  11. Roos is just waiting for us to get the board right and get everything in order. Paul Roos knows that his chances of success hinge on a well structured board. Mark Neeld didn't have that. There is little doubt that Roos would've outlined to Jackson what MFC needed to do to get his interest. The Lions were coming from a long way behind us and they buggered up by voicing their desire to appoint a football orientated board. Roos is purely business, psychology and development and being the narcissist that he is - he would want to be the highest voice of football reason. MFC has given Roos the structure and it gives him freedom to do things his way, whereas in Brisbane he would've been competing with the most successful coach in the clubs history, a lose/lose. Jackon on board, check, Roos on board, check ... Walsh next? hopefully.
  12. Eade has always been too worried about getting knocked back by us, it started by saying he won't be interviewed - but would be open for a chat. Now he has been interviewed, he has pulled out when he realized he may not get the job. So happy we didn't get Eade, he has a losers mentality. Winners don't care if people knock them back and Eade has spent the whole time more worried about himself. Not a successful coach anyway.
  13. I would only just give pick 2 for Sloane. Matt Crouch plays a similar game to Rory, I'd soon rather take him at number 2 if we are heading down that path. No way I'd part with Watts and pick 2, we will get a first round pick for Watts and that pick could be rolled gold in this even draft.
  14. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-08-28/the-washup-melbourne
  15. I don't think the MFC have much to worry about, thankfully Stevie Dank has shut up shop. Essendon have got off unscathed - after running the most systematic drug regime ever seen in Oz sport. Pretty sure MFC is as safe as houses, a non issue, the AFL will not ruin the MFC - it would've already shut us down if it wanted.
  16. Yeah it's unlikely we'll look at Garlett. I am a massive fan of his skills - as I am sure many of football fans are. IMO he was the most talented footballer behind Menzel last year - not to confuse that with the best all round player, but skills wise Menzel and Garlett have that in spades. Here's the thing with Garlett, obviously clubs want to get him psychologically assessed because it's clear as day he has some type of disorder. Yet Garlett not allowing this will only further force clubs to overlook him. My tip to Dayle, embrace the process and shift towards trying to rehabilitate yourself, clubs will appreciate that. Follow in the footsteps of Iron Mike, be openly vulnerable you will be embraced as a result, but be stubborn and you'll end up like Jurrah.
  17. That is insane, this kids going to be hard to toss. Viney and Crouch getting the ball out to Aish and Toumpas is mouthwatering for our forwards.
  18. We have one game to go bud, Craigy is just playing his roll. I can't imagine anyone is too distressed we are still losing, we've been ordinary all year. Let's all just look forward to getting next week out the road, receiving a PP and looking forward to draft day. One positive for us at least is free agency, so if we can use it right and blend maturity with youth - then we can turn things around next year. Have faith.
  19. Considering we can't hit targets to save ourselves, he'd need to slip - or we'd need to trade for a mid first rounder. One thing about James Aish is that the kid can hit a target and as much as I rave on about Toumpas been soft, he can also hit targets. Our kicking is woeful and I agree we need ball hunters, but we also need good users of the ball and Crouch has question marks in that area. If we can draft some quality ball users early, like Aish and perhaps Kelly, then we should be able to get a ball winner at 20/21 in Dumont, Crouch, Sheed or Dunstan, whatever the case, there will be an in an under type around that pick, they can't all go in the first round.
  20. Our past mistakes were not surrounding young talent with mature bodies. Both Chapman and Corey could fill a need for 2 years while Aish and Kelly developed bigger bodies. Not only Chapman and Corey, but there is a long list of blokes that could be courted with big money.
  21. Another best on ground today by Crouch, kid is building.
  22. We should offer Joel Corey a 2 year deal. Chappy would also immediately be in our top 3, even if he was 35 and on one leg.
  23. I was a Tapscott fan and I agree with titan. Tappy would also be my first to get the boot, could not get him away from the club quick enough.
