  1. I believe the salary cap for early retirement is treated differently for trades v free agents
  2. I second this - Petracca has been one of our best players for the past month and while Jeffy doesn't get alot of 'stats' he has been an important part of our ability to retain the ball in our forward 50.
  3. It wouldn't be to difficult to do some late night missions to 'adjust' the fence line around Gotch's over a period of 3 - 6 months. Something I hope Pert is planning with Mahoney and the boys as we discuss this topic.
  4. Cale Morton went to West Coast for pick 200 but was delisted shortly after so he wont play. But Tim Smith would be a good chance.
  5. I reckon Tim Smith to get the call up rather than Petty. Petty is built like Cale Morton.
  6. What's with all the negativity? I'll be furious if we dont win by at least 8 goals. If 5 days of the team watching the prelim final replay while Goody and Macca eyeball each player yelling "You're a c$&t" doesn't spur us to win big then I'm afraid all is lost. Dees!
  7. He will need a haircut if he wants to play for Melbourne.
  8. 4-5 weeks is a rebrand of the old 4-6 week injury which is usually season ending and then causes problems for at least the next season. It's a change that Gary Pert made to stamp his name on our Footy Department and show he means business.
  9. Awesome, we almost have enough to field a team of the living dead
  10. For all we know he could have been out for 10 weeks if he hadn't come back on the ground
  11. I'd argue their is consistency it's just that the 'override' formula which takes into account bookies odds is not available to the general public. I listened to Michael Christianson's explanatiom tonight and all I heard was "Blah blah blah, betting odds Ablett, insufficient force, sportsbet"
  12. As an alternative we could remain at Gotch's paddock and build our admin and training facilities in sewer system, kind of like Bane's home in The Dark Night.
  13. This map is broken, there are buildings where Gotch's paddock is meant to be.
  14. We should register a Melbourne Demons party for the next election, and sell preferences to whichever party stumps up the cash.
  15. Why the outrage, for all we know going back on the ground may have helped heal Jakey boys foot and reduce time out of the game. Looking forward to the whining from so called doctors on here.
  16. West Coast are struggling a bit at the moment and if we turn up to play could beat them. GWS have lost 13 of their last 15 matches at the G and its entirely realistic that we will be able to get the job done. Adelaide at TIO presents another real opportunity which we should have Lever, Hannan and JKH back in the side. Win the above 3 and we will be 6-5 and will make QB v Collingwood a huge game for both teams. Dees!
  17. With our improves defence all around the ground, in particular our forward half, and clearance and contested ball numbers over the past few rounds I'd back us to beat GWS,especially if we can start to take some marks in front of goal.
  18. Interestingly he also mentioned that Weiderman sustained an injury in previous round for Casey. I'm guessing this means he won't be an in v West Coast.
  19. Apparently they've won 2 out of 15 at the G
  20. Given he has never been suspended can provide his perfect record in tribunal hearing.
  21. I don't buy into the whole poor Melbourne we are the victim mentality. The solution is reappy quite simple: 1. We are Melbourne and our home is the 'G'. As such we need training facilities within walking distance to our home and should not consider any other options as our identity is Melbourne. 2. There is little gain from either side of politics in handing out money to the MFC. Generally our members do not live marginal electorates and the East Melbourne bloc bat politically above their weight. 3. We need to keep working the Jolimont and finding a way to gain support from East Melbourne residents. I wouldn't be opposed to call in a Mick Gatto to explain the benefits of the plan. 4. Delivering success, consistent finals and a premiership or two and grow to 70k members and the politicians will take more notice. Failing the above we couls get back into pokies and sign Crown Casino as a sponsor on the basis they build world class training facilities in the casino. When the AFL and politicians complain we simply say our preference was Plan A but can only work if they are on board. I believe that within the next 5-10 years we will have good facilities within a walk of the 'G' along with a social hub for members.
  22. I'd like to see Petracca run away from the mark from 25m out to kick it from 50 out
  23. With May, Lever and Jetta already out, losing Hibberd and Lewis will be difficult to cover. Looks like Fritch and Hunt to the backline.
  24. The GCS have also found some heart in that time.
