Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
In that case we should hire who the least expect. Perhaps go throught the whole process and then announce Simon Goodwin as our new coach. This would show that we are not afraid of acting decisively and making the tough decisions (sacking a Premiership Coach during the season) while also not being swayed by public opiniom (rehiring the coach we sacked only weeks earlier).

Simon Goodwin Sacked
I have been very much in the camp of backing in Goody but have come to the conclusion that the Board have considered our on field performance over a ling enough period to make the difficult decision to move on our Premiership Coach. It seems like the Board looked at contingencies either prior to this season or early on after our poor start before monitoring the situation throughout this season and making the decision prior to the end of the season so that we could have our new Coaching team before the Trade and Draft period.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
For all we know Tom Morris sleeps in a bin outside Goody's house.

Training Ground?
Our challenge has not been to do with Heritage overlays but rather trees and dog walkers, both of which seem to be more difficult to circumnavigate.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
This is why I have warmed to Bucks. I think he did alot right at Collingwood, handled himself with grace in dealing with Malthouses trlantrums and when he stepped down as Senior Coach, has a presence about him and is great with the media, has had enough time out of the game to be refreshed, and is hungry to win a Premiership having not yet done so as a player or coach.

May to Tribunal
I think the problem is that the MRO/Tribunal "review" these incidents with a predetermined outcome in mind and then spend hours deliberating to work out the subjective factors to support their predetermined outcome. The May suspension is fully based on subjective "interpretations" of what the mythological reasonable player would do. I wonder which reasonable player they will use this time.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Interestingly in the four rounds before West Coast we were first in the league for % of marks for kicks inside 50.

Simon Goodwin Sacked
Imagine if Goody wasn't really sacked but that the club staged the Board meeting to draw out the mole.

Simon Goodwin Sacked
This is where I reckon Simmo or Horse would be good. It is an ideal role for an experienced Head Coach who has had success, is strong on culture, but no longer has the desire to be the Head Coach. Then bring in a Cam Bruce or simarly experienced Senior Assistant ad the Head Coach.

Simon Goodwin Sacked
I'm torn on this, on one hand I feel like Goodwin has been badly let down by the Club Administration this year but am also hopeful that the decision was made based on an informed view of how our Footy Department were tracking internally and ability to turn things around rather than a reaction to our win/loss record the past couple of years and the embarrasing 4th quarter vs Saints. The Board had better have a good plan to bring in a coaching group that will being sustained success and not simply make change for the sake of it.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Kenny - no real success Simmo - the reason why WCE are uncompetitive Horse - won a GF with COLA, smashed in subsequent GF's with Academy Players Voss - probably should have offered to swap coaches for 2026 and see what happens I'd look at something along the lines of Cam Bruce with Simmo or Horse as Football Manager.

Caroline Wilson’s article 2 August 2025
Re Pettyfor, she was the GM Football Ops and AFLW at Collingwood before joining us so for all we know she was slated for this role when we brought her in as Comms Director. It id not as if we've grabbed a random person from Marketing to run a footy program.

This seems good on paper but I'd be wary of the Filths tricks.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I reckon clubs would pay $800k to $1.2m for Oliver with a second to third round pick. While he is not tearing games apart he is still one of the best inside mids and for clubs with such a need he would be better value than an equivelant 25+ year old free agent.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
It is also very strange that the AFL CEO met with Bailey Smith to tell him how valuabpe he is to the league. My take is this is a highly inappropriate meeting as the league CEO should not be meeting with players at clubs re their future in the league.

Where is Fritta Going?
I heard that Fritsch was upset and felt blindsided about Lever being dropped.

2025 MRO & Tribunal
If North can argue that Xerri was reasonabpy contesting the ball then it is not a classifiable offence. Given the action was to run past the ball while swinging an outstretched arm I cannot see how they could argue such an action is reasonable.

Time to scrutinise Alan Richardson
Do we make a play for Damian Barrett and Llordo to run our Footy Department?

Time to go Goody?
So if we really click in the last 6-8 rounds including winning our last 3 rounds in dominant displays you would advocate sacking the coach in the basis that we missed finals? I'm disappointed with our inconsistency this year, especially how poorly we have performed against middling sides, but want to see us back in contention next year.

Harry McKay leaving Blues?
I'd prefer we go after his brother Ben and teach him (backman) how to play as a forward.

Trade Targets
I see that as a good thing. Bring him in and whoever is the new whipping boy we can refer to as reek.
