  1. Good post! I had an excuse that I had spent half time preparing cheese board and didnt want it to spill. I did manage to clap my fingers together, one handed.
  2. In fairness the peak Neeld years brought a certain novelty factor
  3. I reckon we need to lose this weekend to sing up the 'ironic' supporter base and once they are signed we start winning to pickup the 'winning' supporters. Relax we've got this!
  4. This is too sensible for DL
  5. 67% game time is reasonable for a first game. If he played 50% I'd be concerned but i think he'll build to 80+% over the next 2 - 3 rounds. He might simply be holding himself back while he builds match fitness, in which case if he had won would have been smart play but because we lost he's seen as the problem. I reckon we give it a few games to see a bigger sample and then we will have a better idea where Jack and the team are tracking.
  6. Viney played 79 minutes according to AFL.com. He looked like he was focussed on just getting through the game but also looked like this when he come back the last couple of seasons before being unleashed to devestating effect. I'll back him to be one of our best in the next 2-3 games.
  7. Agree with this wholly. We fell apart in the middle where our players didn't work hard enough defensively. Port had a heap more handballs and uncontested marks yet also out tackled us. Desoite being so poor in this fundamental we were in it for most of the game and only lost by 5 goals. Fix our focus and workrate in the middle of the ground and we will then start winning and be able to tweak our game.
  8. No way Pruce will play, needs fitness and unlikely to play unless oppo play two rucks or if Gawn injured. Pruce is not the answer to what happened yesterday.
  9. He did kick 4 in JLT with only one leg, play him at FF what could possibly go wrong??
  10. Frost out for May. Re comments to drop all three of Oscar, Frost and Hoare, our defensive running in the midfield was poor (same as JLT) and they smashed us in inside 50's. I thought Hoare was decent and deserves a few games to settle to hopefully fill the Lever sweeper role for the first half of the season. Tough game v Geelong on Saturday night but im backing us to have a real dip.
  11. Frost - head less chook
  12. Minor and major premiership, for/against points above 200% and 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Brownlow and 22 in the All Australian final squad.
  13. Hogan will be fine at Freo. He gave us hope for several years is now back home in WA. I'll be wrapped to see him work through mental health challenges and have a long successful career, so long as its not v Melb in September. Get around the bloke, he has a big heart and has been through alot.
  14. Dont give up hope, were still in this and if we can claw back to level pegging then only need a quick 5-6 goals to gain percentage needed to finish top two - Go Dees!
  15. That was ages ago, back in JLT1. Different interpretation for JLT2, simples.
  16. I vaguely recall an incident involving May last year when he played for the Shanghai Suns and risked being suspended before the China Cup v Port. Can anyone remember the incident and the outcome?
  17. Is this actual footage of the May v Berry incident? Explains the medium impact assessment.
  18. I reckon May will be fine. That Simon Goodwin commented on it indicates that he has the coaches support, especially given Goodwin generally plays a straight bat on such matters. Lets wait and see what the club does. Also if we do appeal i believe the rules have changed so that May does not risk a longer suspension but instead the club have to pay a fine in the event we are unsuccessful.
  19. Jaded, i dont think May crossed the line. The AFL media machine has what it wants, a controversy on the eve of the season. We will appeal and May will be free to play round one, but not before it sends the fans into raptures and gives the media something to fill the media cycle. Relax, we've got this.
  20. We probably would have paid under the soft cap while Neeld was coach
  21. Scott can carry on as much as he likes along with the holy trinity, we will smash them.
  22. We will easily make 55k and 60k is possible this year. 70k next year if we win flag this year and continue form. Into next year.
  23. Its pure speculation that the faces have bodies, i call fake news
  24. I couldn't disagree more. The AFL cannot take an ethical stance on illicit drugs that only applies to the players. Im fine that PED testing should only apply to players but there is no justification to only subject players to illicit drug testing. Everyone under the AFL banner should be subject to the same cultural standards.
  25. Part of the solution needs to be alchohol and ilicit drug testing not only for players but anyone while working for the AFL or Clubs, including coaching and support staff, back office personnel, media (while working at an AFL event or function) and executive management. As it stands the players would see this inconsistency and game the system, where as if you make sure whats good for the duck is good for mother goose then there is at least some integrity about the policy.
