  1. Throw picks 7 and 8 at him
  2. If anything offering a stable long term tenancy without the drama of the MRC should make us an appealing prospect for the Trust. Surely they look at the MRC and think what are these muppets doing.
  3. Im assuming other clubs have fathers who have had sons too
  4. Thanks Trigon, I was actually being facetious but realised tone doesn't really come through. We have some excition father son prospects with Kalani White, Noah Yze and Oliver Green. Who else am I missing? Are the Robbo or Neita kids coming through?
  5. Not to rain on the parade but the AFL will change father/son rules and Oilver will end up at Collingwood.
  6. I feel that a key part of Trac and Oliver moving on is that it becomes our younger players midfield, with Gawn, Viney, Steele etc to guide them but in a way that hands over the mantle to our young core of players. I'd expect Langford, Lindsay, Windsor, Kossie etc to be really excited about the fresh start and imagine our older players will enjoy the fresh start. While I think we will be up and down next year I'm hopeful that we will hit our straps and could achieve anything by seasons end.
  7. All of these players are on our list snd tracking well. For reference Charlie Curnow was drafted in 2015 and in his first 5 seasons averaged 1 goal per game. In his first 3 seasons JVR is averaging 1.5 goals per game.
  8. While it seems all but certain tha Humphrey wont be joining us this trade period I have had a heap of fun on here and will keep a close eye on Humphrey's 2026 campaign. He seems like a good character to have in a footy club and hopefully we secure a good 2026 pick that can go towards chasing him next year.
  9. I'd trust an anonymous member of a supporter forum whom I've never met that is posting updates while on the toilet at a bbq over the hack so called journalists.
  10. Imagine with all of the fuss over Trac and Oliver trades if we forgot to hold a pick for Kalani and he slipped through to another team 🤣
  11. In hindsight we should have traded Clarry in 2022. While his trade value might be lower than last year (who knows what Geelong offered and how that compares to GWS) it does privide King and our new Footy Department to set clear expections re standards that will help drive our culture. I suspect the way we handled Oliver since 2022 probably wouldn't sit well with players wanting more time on ball and without moving on Clarry at best we don't develop our young midfield and more likely have players want to leave.
  12. Or perhaps other clubs have a good understanding of the risk they are taking on re Clarry and we need him off our list to move forward. I love a redemption story but there is no way we would be trading Clarey if he was meeting lur expectstions as a professional footballer.
  13. Perhaps a middle ground is that we accept picks 7 and 8 for Trac, don't provide GCS with the required picks to secure both of their academy players, they draft one and we draft the other, and then in 12 months time see if us/GCS want to do a trade involving Humphrey for their academy pick. BOOM!
  14. I wouldn't bother bringing in anyone over 25 years old unless they bring leadership to a line that is lacking, e.g. our forward line with Checkers. Save our picks to draft or trade in elite 18 - 23 year old talent and build a war chest to chase one or two free agents over the next few years.
  15. I have sympathy for Merrett as the Footy Department and Club haven't upheld their end of the bargain to develop a capable list and provide a stable environment for players. There isn't much more he could have done and he only has one career.
  16. By the looks of it the absolute worst outcome would be to keep Oliver on our list. In the AFL he would take up an onball position at the expense of a Langford, Windsor or Rivers, and there is no point having him run around in the VFL without even considering the likelihood of him relapsing if he is not getting games at the top level. It feels like we are walking a tightrope of trying to retool our list without going into a rebuild. To do this we need to turn the Petracca, Oliver and McVee picks into under 25 year old talent, get their money off our TPP and free up cap space so we can chase free agents over the next few years. I'd be happy to keep Trac if the club feels he will fully buy into the new Footy Department and not request a trade next year, but if we feel he will go no matter what then we are pribably best of getting the best deal we can which means trading him this year.
  17. Unless you are posting this from the toilets then I don't believe you.
  18. Demon Forever was on the toilet yesterday, twice.
  19. I wonder if Humphrey has stumbled along Demonland yet?
  20. I don't think Trac staying is untenable, as we have an entirely new Footy Department, CEO and President, however there is a risk that if he stays that he won't be 100% invested in our direction which will negatively impact our young core of players, and still wants a trade at the end of 2026 only to be worth less in any trade and cost us $1 million in TPP for 2026. Our list management team will have a good handle on this.
  21. This is more exciting than the year where De Joey stayed and McStay go'ed.
  22. Taking the [censored] on how much me and the rest of us nuffies on here are hanging on every sign re Humphrey. Robbo loves the club and is well connected but probably not spending every moment of the past week worrying about Humphrey like we are.
  23. Saw Russell Robertson with his son at basketball yesterday. He looked happy and didn't seem to be carrying the weight/burden of someone who didn't know whether Humphreys will be at the Dees next year. Take from that what you will.
  24. Can @Demon Forever at least update us on whether his source has accepted the invitation?
  25. For all we know he already has but it has been kept between us and the Suns until the trade is agreed to. Both clubs might be 80% settled on a deal but it makes everyone look bad if the trade is requested and the deal doesn't get done.
