  1. The $30 million evenly split btw State and Federal Government seems roughly inline with other clubs. I do wonder if we end up self funding whether we would press the AFL to uninvite or at least make State and Federal Government officials pay to attend any matches that we play in.
  2. Not sure but last year I did their $1 for 1 month special offer x 3 times (for a total of $3) which covered the periods we played away games that were not on free to air and then attended most home games. I struggle with Kayo due to the poor streaming quality that is worse than 7HD.
  3. Per other comments above I cannot see the State Government not contributing given they have an obligation to contribute financially to the facilities of all Victorian AFL clubs, that we have recieved by far the least funding of all AFL clubs and have the worst facilities of any AFL clubs. If this is genuinely a stumbling block then perhaps we start talks with the NT Governments re what they could offer if we relocate.
  4. My read was May was advised that the club would look to play its core group of younger players to setup our team for its next window and as such, barring injuries, May would probably spend most of his time at Casey. As such it encouraged May to explore opportinities elsewhere while also letting him know that he is a Melbourne player.
  5. I'd be staggered if Maxy wasn't reappointed as captain for 2026. I think the point he's trying to make is that as a leader his job is to help setup the club for the next 10 years and thats ehat he is focussed on and not being captain.
  6. Add Tmac and May who likely wont play much AFL next year.
  7. The flipside of the Ox's argument is that we have underperformed with our list over the past 2 seasons and eith the talent on our list should be performing much better. While we wont cover the loss of Trac, and to a lesser extent Oliver, an extra preseason into Langford, Windsor, Lindsay, Rivers etc, and the addition of Steele should mitigate this loss and hopefully we play with a bit more freedom. Its worth noting how Collingwood really struggled late in Buck's tenure and then started their unbelievable run with McRae which also came off the back of the Daicos boys.
  8. This makes no sense. Its pretty straightforward for the State and Federal Government to announce the funding along with tge statement that Melbourne, the oldest sporting club in the world has the worst facilities and has receieved the peast funding in the league, and that thid announcement brings Melbourne in line eith the other clubs. Addituonally it will provide more soace for the existing codes in the MCG Precint and also support the MCG redevelopment.
  9. I'd describe him as a hybrid between Max Gawn, Buddy Franklin and Wayne Carey and he will be as good in 2026 as Sam Darcy was in 2025. No pressure.
  10. I think Latrelle is a prgamatic choice in that: He fits our need for a dynamic and creative small forward. His inclusion in our 22 allows Kossie to spend more time in the midfield, while both Pickett's in the forward line makes for a dynamic mix. Latrelle's weaknesses such as defencive workrate can be worked on and Kossie is an excellent role model for his cousin. Strengthens Kossie's ties to our club provided Latrelle performs well.
  11. A good listen. My takeaway is that if we can generate enoug clearances, more than the Dogs in 2025, then we don't need to improve goal assists and scores per inside 50.
  12. Thanks is there a shorter version, say 30 secs long? This goes for a whole 20 mins.
  13. Could it be that while Richo is consulted on changes his involvement is not in a decision making capacity but rather to use his existing relationships with staff and players to help communicate changesand smooth the transition.
  14. I thi k you will find clubs such as St Kilda and North give out free memberships to juniors who play for local football clubs or go to school in their area. A more relevant measure is membership revenue as it cuts through all of the junk and $1 memberships that to my knowldge the MFC doesn't promote.
  15. Indeed. It also wouldn't surprise me if the design work has already been done to a level that a Contractor is able to be engaged to start preparing the site immediately once we have an agreement with the Caufield Trust, State Government and AFL, with additionally planning requirements submitted and approved in readiness for the construction. Taking this approach two years is realistic.
  16. Throw picks 7 and 8 at him
  17. If anything offering a stable long term tenancy without the drama of the MRC should make us an appealing prospect for the Trust. Surely they look at the MRC and think what are these muppets doing.
  18. Im assuming other clubs have fathers who have had sons too
  19. Thanks Trigon, I was actually being facetious but realised tone doesn't really come through. We have some excition father son prospects with Kalani White, Noah Yze and Oliver Green. Who else am I missing? Are the Robbo or Neita kids coming through?
  20. Not to rain on the parade but the AFL will change father/son rules and Oilver will end up at Collingwood.
  21. I feel that a key part of Trac and Oliver moving on is that it becomes our younger players midfield, with Gawn, Viney, Steele etc to guide them but in a way that hands over the mantle to our young core of players. I'd expect Langford, Lindsay, Windsor, Kossie etc to be really excited about the fresh start and imagine our older players will enjoy the fresh start. While I think we will be up and down next year I'm hopeful that we will hit our straps and could achieve anything by seasons end.
  22. All of these players are on our list snd tracking well. For reference Charlie Curnow was drafted in 2015 and in his first 5 seasons averaged 1 goal per game. In his first 3 seasons JVR is averaging 1.5 goals per game.
  23. While it seems all but certain tha Humphrey wont be joining us this trade period I have had a heap of fun on here and will keep a close eye on Humphrey's 2026 campaign. He seems like a good character to have in a footy club and hopefully we secure a good 2026 pick that can go towards chasing him next year.
  24. I'd trust an anonymous member of a supporter forum whom I've never met that is posting updates while on the toilet at a bbq over the hack so called journalists.
  25. Imagine with all of the fuss over Trac and Oliver trades if we forgot to hold a pick for Kalani and he slipped through to another team 🤣
