Juice was Wayne Carey'esque for 1 half of football v North
  2. Looks like a great opportunity to me. Bring it on!
  3. Change could also mean the players executing the game plan, which managed to get us a a prelim final last year. If we take Goodwin at his word along with what Viney, Brayshaw etc are saying its that we are not performing because the players are not executing as instructed. Our performance this season closely resembles last season (although we did manage an early win or two) and the club turned things around to win 6 in a row, before dropping off again after the bye only to come storming back, beat WCE and GWS and win 2 finals. We are a young side and have started slowly but on history I'm backing the coaches and players to turn things around.

Thanks, might have to swish it down with a 1.25l bottle of the black doctor and then fall asleep on the can.

It can always be worse. I doubt we will maje major changes. If only. We had Michael 'Juice' Newton then all would be solved.
  7. It's interesting that the Essendon 'Doping Scandal' was spun as the 'Supplement Saga' in the media. I'd love to read an article which describes it for what it was, a deliberate and covert program to give its team a biological advantage through the use of exotic substances which were found by ASADA to be banned substances, hence a doping program overseen by the Essendon Football Department.
  8. This is a good summary of where we are at. Our biggest problem is that when we do not win the ball or turn it over the lack of pressure in the middle of the ground. This is the same problem. We had early last season, the only difference is that we were luck ly to jag a couple of wins before we got into some form and won six on the trot. Big game v Sydney this week.

    Be patient Deesprate
  10. One positive from last night is we've risen from 18th to 17th on the ladder. Onward and upward?

In seriousness I don't see our problems having anything to do with Pert. We're simoly in poor form. I'm happy the club has backed in Goodwin and the challenges the team is experiencing will make us better. Both Hardwick and Buckley coaches sides were underperforming and under enormous pressure but their coubs backes them in and Richmond wone a premiership while Collingwood played in one last year amd looking the goods 3 rounds in. Be patient fellow Demons.

Could our losses be Gary Pert's fault? We were winning, Pert comes on board and suddenly we're 0-3. Also, he leaves Collingwood and they play in a GF and look even better now.

A bit early in the season to be talking about draftees.....

Re Joel Smith he did manage to kick 4 goals on practically 1 leg. When we're losing people analyse every decision, I say sit back, attend matches, support the club and enjoy the 'bumpy' ride.
  15. I think Jack's doing fine. Played limited minutes in VFL during JLT2, 65% in round 1 and limited impact due to corkie, 75% in round 2 and I'd expect would build to 85% over the next few games. I reckon he will tear game apart for a quarter on Friday and will be primed for Sydney and St Kilda for BOG on Anzac eve v Richmond.

Demonhauntedworld if I understand your analysis, being 0-2 and 18th we are a certainty to finish minor premiers like St Kilda in 1997.
  17. I don't think our situation is anywhere near as bad as it seems. Our aim is to win the Premiership, to do this we need to beat a WCE or Colliingwood in GF, to be able do this we need to to win at least two finals and to do this we need to win at least 12/13 games with healthy percentage. We can win the next 3 while improving to then take on Richmond for Anzac Eve and then we are 4 - 2 and back on track, with Lever, J Smith, Vanders and Hannan to work back in and establish in our best 22. All is not lost.
  18. Club speaks out in support of George Pell, appeals for a lighter sentence
  19. Today's game was very similar to what happened v Hawthorn last year. We got smashed bombing it into our forward 50 and Geelong rebounding and getting us out the back. Im confident we will sort out the problem, like we did last year and went on to win 20+ quarters in a row, but need to win at least two of Peptides, Sydney and Saints to keep in touch. Positives for me were our engine room starting to work, Oliver, Brayshaw, Gawn and Harmes, along with Viney and Melksham working back into form, a game into May and KK, and that we are fielding one of the youngest sides. Our system is clearly not working at the moment, bombing into our forward 50, losing crucial contests resulting in opposition goals and not applying enough pressure to create defensive stoppages. Next few weeks will be important.
  20. Brayshaw - yes!
  21. Geelong first to 100 should win this
  22. Definitely up against it tonight but players are really digging deep. It's clear we are not in form but we started to get on top that qtr, keep it up and we might just pull off a win. Go dees!

Not happy that N Jones talked. He should have said 'talks cheap' followed by silence when asked a question.
  24. I have it on good authority that Jay Lockhart will line up for the red and blue on Saturday.
