  1. Totally with you...structurally it makes a lot more sense to leave Jackson in. Besides the fact that Tom has done nothing over the last 18 months to deserve an automatic recall. This 22 stays for mine...
  2. Posted this in the game day thread.... Pickering of the Liam variety thinks it will be a walk in the park for the Hawks today. Honestly, I think he is way off the mark and look forward to sending a text to him at SEN complimenting his total lack of football knowledge. Will, be tracking down 'Pickers' this week, be interested in his expert opinion of the game...lol. Anyone know when he's next on SEN?
  3. It's exciting to watch 'dazzle'. They had some nice cameos today but with more game time they are going to be a real handful.
  4. I wouldn't do it 'what'... I reckon Jackson gave us more than Tommy has this season. He took some grabs, was very lively around the centre bounces and added the forward pressure with some nice tackles. He needs a few games on the trot now. Sometimes you get an injury at an inopportune time and this is one for Tom, he can wait until something opens up. His form was nowhere near good enough to be an automatic selection...
  5. Reminds me a bit of comparison between Oliver and Parish. Weightman like Parish will be a good serviceable footballer. Kozzie like Oliver will be a beauty...
  6. Luckily he's not playing 'dazzle'... ...if both teams play to their best, we win. Like most though, I'm not confident.

  8. Peter Ryan who reported it is not an ambulance chaser so I would take the report as being right. He's no Tom Browne A question, is it just the indigenous players that have to get this particular vaccination? I know an issue blew up earlier in the NRL about players needing to have a flu shot before they were able to play in Qld...
  9. What a fantastic and enlightening post...not only enlightening but educational. Thanks for taking the time 'Colin'. Brilliant...
  10. Reposted with full quote below... Was too good and didn't do justice to just abbreviate...
  11. Excited to see Jackson again...he's a smart footballer and even if he isn't getting much footy will always bring something.
  12. I would put Harmes on Smith & take him out of the game...he is too damaging by foot to have Langdon go head to head with him. Let Langdon go head to head with Scully.
  13. Did you know that Brown & Daicos had fathers who played for Collingwood 'Rusty'??? Who would have thought...
  14. Started poorly with that mark paid to De Goey...what a howler and Brian said he probably held it long enough. The only thing worse than the standard of game and umpiring was the commentary. That trio are dreadful...
  15. Don't usually go in to bat for 'drysdale' but he's been pretty consistent on this for a while now 'Ohio', it's not just something he's made up. I just hope Paddy can get on with his life, it's sad for him that it doesn't look like football is going to be it going forward. The sooner he can move on the better. Good luck to the kid...
  16. They don't have the kicking ability to play this game any longer. Their players in the defensive half with the exception of Sicily are all average to poor kicks. They don't have any Gibsons or Birchalls and instead have Frosts and Frawleys They will try possession but if we bring what we did last week it will fall apart pretty easily.
  17. Looks like all Victorian teams are moving to Qld for the remainder of the season. Everyone out of NSW soon, maybe last game on Sunday...but maybe not?
  18. He needs a good consistent run of games now...then we can make a better assessment. He hasn't had this in his career to date.
  19. Darwin probably about to come into the mix sooner than expected....
  20. The way things are moving we will be lucky to be moving out.. Might have to move out sooner & don't be surprised if we don't play in Sydney this week. Qld are already shutting off parts of Sydney.
  21. What happened last time he was tried there (In real games, and not just one) was that he jumped all over Tommy & Hoges/Weid spoiling their marking attempts. He also ran to the wrong places blocking their leading patterns. So rather than support, he gets in the way. The same as when we tried Frost forward, both are great athletes but don't have the football smarts as forwards nor as defenders in all honesty.
  22. If you think Smith was a headless chook playing back, have you seen him in a real game playing forward.
  23. Thanks for posting this 'Dee King', I heard this mentioned today. I think it was the Chief Health officer or maybe the health minister. My partner, who can't stand football said it is a good thing your club is doing. I think so...if clubs are going to talk community then they need to act it. Hopefully the good karma bus will treat us well in the future.
  24. Ok, just watched the game. After taking account all the expert commentary from this site last night and today it was rather illuminating. Melksham was ok, will stay. Brayshaw didn't get a lot of it but again did his job, what I like about him is when in the centre bounces he knows how to spread and create space. He's knows how to get a clean clearance from the middle. I was looking for all that dejected, head down stuff that I read and saw none of it. He can do more but sometimes when Trac, Oliver and Viney are getting a lot of it there's not as much to go around. Kozzie, well worth his spot in the team. directly responsible for at least 3 goals...will hit the scoreboard himself soon. a bit unlucky at times but gives us something we don't have. Clever player and good ball user. AVB was pretty average but redeemed himself with some good tackles, he's going to have to do a lot more than that going forward. Needs to hit targets more...and whilst he is a strong tackle, is too easy to run around. Nev & Lockhart struggled but I'm not sure what the options are, Hunt, Rivers, Jordon...I would be grooming Sparrow for the deep role myself as I think his attributes of strength, leg speed and ability in the air would be assets, I don't think he is a natural ball winner so not going to make it as a mid. If Tmac doesn't come up then it's Jackson or Brown. They could even try Brown back and move May forward... Could even bring Thommo in as a back or forward, I would prefer back. I liked that Goody switched things around a bit during the game. Trac had an off day by foot, he's usually a lot better than that. Ollie, some good, some not good...Jack the same. Langdon a bit stiff to get a couple kicked on him, one from a very soft decision but I can see why we got him...the boy knows how to get the ball and is just starting to settle. Seemed to be some lessons learned. So I would think not much change to the team, maybe one defensive change and Tommy out if he doesn't come up.
