He had lost is as a defender and we had to try and find a spot forward for him. Started well in defence but then lost it. The same thing is happening to him now as a forward. It would be worth making the change during a game 'Biff', you have to try something. ...but as a permanent move, May has been too valuable as a defender.

I think we would be lucky to get that 'dazz'...Bruce is a similar type a year younger. "The Western Bulldogs have added to their key forward stocks by recruiting Josh Bruceto the kennel. The Dogs & Saints struggled to agree on Bruce's trade value over the past week, but the Saints eventually accepted picks 32 and 51 in return. The 27-year-old has been given a four year deal at the Dogs." We would probably be lucky to get a pic in the 50's for Tommy in exposed form now...

Probably better suited here... From my topic back in early 2019... I think he should have been dropped back then. Most, including our FD lived in hope. It was false hope.
  4. Like' @binman' above, I had just read the article before catching this post. It's a very sad story indeed. The reaction from the VFL and local football bodies at the time was telling. They were not cast in a great light. Sports administrators often follow rather than lead the way. I expect to be reading about how the AFL turned a blind eye to the behaviour of certain club Presidents and the poor behaviour shown to Adam Goodes among others sometime down the track. We've certainly got a long way to go despite the current rhetoric.

  6. Back in the good old days you hit someone you got 4 weeks. If you kicked someone you got a hell of a lot more. Pretty simple system made complex. 4 weeks if you hit someone and I don't think you need to worry about it happening anymore... Of course it wasn't so easy to catch anyone back in those days so they had a payback system. You think Lynch would have done it if Collins could have had a shot back...I doubt it.
  7. Lynch like Burgoyne and the sling tackle gets away with a fine. You can guarantee someone will be made an example of. If I was a low profile player (think ANB) I would be very careful in the current environment. The AFL are looking for you.
  8. Interesting you have Tommy ahead of Luke....I certainly don't have Tommy in our best 22. He's been overtaken by Jackson & Weid this season. He's depth now and that's how he's being used.
  9. They need to ditch the whole idea. Jealousy about a few players from Northern State academies gave us an unworkable system. We have a commission for a reason and they didn't stand up when they should have.
  10. Also, to run against the grain here. I know he made a couple of mistakes but I thought Harmes was ok. He seems to be settling into the HB role in tandem with Salem. He's only a game or so off a real break out in the position.
  11. A couple of things of note there. He's definitely going with the new AFL commentary buzz phrase 'creating width'. ...and we've been crying out for a good outside mid, and you couldn't get any more outside than that. On a more serious note, I love what he brings... The kid just doesn't stop running and you can see he enjoys his footy.
  12. Looking at the game, watched a replay of it tonight. Dunn is done. Great effort to get back, depth now and gone at the end of the season. Has had a good career.
  13. It showed in his first half...was on "media street". Tried to do way too much. ...but settled in the 2nd.
  14. I reckon they're taking a risk with this one... What Q will he go down? ...or, will he start?
  15. Setting the bar low mate... The only one on that list I would consider is Cerra. ...and Freo are not in desperate need of an inside mid. EFC are desperate, so as I said earlier the only win/win there is Merrett but they're too dumb to seek win/win trades
  16. He can go head to head with Oliver... Sidebottom is the danger man, Harmes to Sidebottom for mine
  17. EFC would be a suitor, they need inside grunt...the only thing that maybe a consideration is a straight swap with Merrett. They're not going to do that one but it would probably be a win/win A pick in this coming draft is no use to us. Carlton need help for Cripps but looking at their list they're not going to give up Walsh and there is nothing else there. Saints, Billings or Gresham? Freo, Cerra or brother Brayshaw... I guess you get where I'm coming from...he stays.
  18. Yep, Lewis was a good footballer no doubt. ...but he's a dreadful football analyst. He has little to no idea and just doesn't do his homework at all. It's surprising he doesn't seem to even know his most recent teammates and their strengths and weaknesses. The only thing he offers at the moment is a bit of click bait on the Hawks, Clarko & Jeff. Getting by on the good guy, good footballer job for life.
  19. Looks about right 'Pennant'... Tommy Mac has had a reprieve, I hope he realises this and finds some form. Unfortunately I'm not sure he has it in him any longer. Hope I'm wrong...
  20. The umpiring was dreadful tonight. Summed up by the 3rd goal from a free to GWS... Just dreadful...
  21. Whilst I think Wallace neglected to mention the injury issues other than that he is right. As for making little sense, I think Wallace is one of the few that do make sense a lot of the time. Pity he is retiring after this season. We left Sam out in the wilderness for way too long. He needed to play, the FD were way too quick to send him back down on a number of occasions whilst keeping the faith in Tommy Mac who was really struggling. The Jackson Weideman duo is the obvious one now, but still a number on here want to see Tommy in the mix. Let it go. As for the ruck role, it didn't do him any favours particularly in this preseason. I thought it was pretty dumb to play Sam in the ruck (next to no forward time) when we needed him to develop as a KPF... Anyway, he looks on track now. No doubt he will have his down days, still yet to play 50 games but let's hope the FD and Goody keep the faith and don't get too cute.
  22. I think Tommy is done 'Macca'... Runs like he is stuck in the tram tracks, no sideways movement. Not that he had much in the first place but what ever he did have is gone now. I think he needs someone like Sidebottom to run him back into form...
  23. Mundy is a really, really good footballer. I could say underrated but no, I'm sure all those who know football know how good he is.
