2016 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Pennant St Dee replied to dee-luded's topic in Melbourne Demons
WAFL Players Liam Ryan: has had a very good season and possesses a wonderful skill set, lightening quick around goal and very dangerous at the fall of the ball as a crumber. Having said all that his lack of accountability and inability to deal with close checking defenders really stood out when playing against quality opponents. Was shown up big time in the GF against the Thunder (Dockers aligned club) when at times he was matched up by Hughes, Clancee Pearce and Silvagni. A lot of Shane Yarran about him and he will always do well at WAFL level but not sure about how he will go at the next level. A rookie possibility Darcy Cameron: Has had a very good season and has really made the transition as a player from a Ruckman who could rest forward, to now being a forward who can ruck. Was very 1 dimensional in his draft year and it hurt him. He has knuckled down and is exactly what we need going forward. Issue we have is I highly doubt he will be there when our first pick comes. Meth Coast are all over him and will take him with at least their 3rd round pick Zac Fisher: Really a kid I hope falls down the pecking order, he is an outstanding prospect who uses the ball very well and is a lively midfielder. Very much a small midfielder and to me that gives me hope he may drop down the pecking order. There are lots of question marks on his size which is the only issue I see with him however in the big bodied midfield we have built I think he would be an asset. -
Thanks Dunny for great service to the club I love which for the most part of your journey has been difficult times. You are a true clubman and I will remember you fondly as a Dee.

Oh god he's started early telling people what is happening. FMD we all have access to radio and the internet, Time for me to check out till the trade period is over, I can't handle the constant derailing of threads by the same poster

With the trade period to come I see 4 sides who will definitely make finals. Swans, GWS, Dogs & Crows Hawks imo will slide somewhat into the next group unless they manage to snare all of O Meara, Mitchell, a key defender, Vickery and Roughy comes back. The holes started to appear this year just like Cats in 2013. I am not sold on the Cats they took a big gamble last season and they have a lot of ageing stars. LTI to Danger or Selwood leaves them vulnerable. I have the Hawks and Cats as the leaders of the next group fighting for the top 8 spots so in that group is Hawks, Cats, Saints, Meth Coast (don't be fooled there easy draw at the first 2 thirds of the season glossed over some very big cracks and a very soft underbelly), Dees, Bombers and Pies. I think the Bombers have done really well to get some experience into some quality kids and there midfield has some depth. We have improved and drafted very well since 2013 and I see nothing to suggest we won't continue to do so. Our list needs to understand without putting in some real hard yards it wont just happen. Of course one of the unmentioned sides will just prove us all wrong and all of Port, Freo, North, Carlton & Richmond will depending on injury be able to put good runs together but not really threaten the top 6 IMO. Suns and Lions are both starting from a long way back. Trades drafting and the draw will all play a big part in my views on each team

Jesse Hogan re-signs to end of Season 2019
Pennant St Dee replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Langdon is on holidays. Hardie and Hagdorn were on tonight and talk about retracting. They were saying it was always going to be difficult and he had another year on his contract anyway. Hagdorn tried the old line of " I understand Melbourne offered him a significantly longer contract of 4 to 5 years which Hogan knocked back and decided to sign for 2 years". He has no idea it's only a couple of weeks ago they were talking about Meth Coast also having an interest and could a trade be done this year. In their defence most of their audience are Meth Coast fans who only remember things said about their own team -
Tropiano may be on the move to Subi. Be nice to see them up there for a change. Tigers will get back Kane Mitchell Alec Waterman & De Boer to with their already developing young mids and be pushing for top 4
-
Lost a yard. He's done at AFL level will be sought after by some of the WAFL big spending/well connected clubs. Perth would love him back and he wouldn't impact their points but they will have a fight on their hands.

All the best Garry. Hope whichever path you choose life treats you and your family well. He was and forever will be a club great -
God I hope our second round pick isn't 22. I'd be more hoping from 29 to 36
-
Why would they do it young Millera will be a better player long term because he possesses an appetite for hard work. On top of that Betts and Cameron are their current small forwards. The Crows are aware they need midfield depth and they would also be aware Motlop is not the player they need
-
Not sure he's a country boy from Albany so obviously used to being away from home even if it is only 4hrs drive
-
Hamling has had a great finals series Kennedy Gunston and Cameron 3 weeks running all well beaten
-
Crows won from 5th in 98. We were the only side to beat them in September
-
A take from me at the right price 3rd roundish, really improved by adding the goal kicking ruckman to his game after being shellshocked when not drafted first time around. Started to knuckle down mid 2015 and had a very strong year until getting injured late. Has potential to be a Rory Lobb type. Meth Coast are very keen on him

Was a very good young athlete Javelin I think was his chosen event. Had a very good u18 championship being moved on many occasions from CHF to CHB to shore up defensive issues and prevent the FF & FB being isolated. Been good at WAFL level but I place some questions on his pace and agility. Has filled the defensive gap at West Perth this season left by Marcus Adams being recruited. IMO just an okay footballer who hasn't progressed as expected. Rookie maybe but the best young defender coming out of WA this year is Josh Rotham

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Pennant St Dee replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Scarborough played Trinity Aquinas in the WAAFL A grade GF yesterday unfortunately The Sea Eagles went down by 12 points. Hogan is a Newman College boy from Scarborough and played junior footy for Marist who don't have a senior side. A lot of Newman boys end up playing at Scarborough and Hogan has friends at the club. Ryan Murphy ex Freo plays for T/A Luke Mcpharlin is an Aquinas old boy and Tendai Muzungai came through there so this is really a nothing story. I was unable to get to the game yesterday so can't say who was and wasn't there -

Take it from me it is on the money I wont go into personal details But I have been aware of it for some time. I had some posts regarding it removed from the thread. -
Great to watch and coming to work in WA this morning was wonderful. Jack Darling another pathetic finals effort and he wasn't alone Yeo, Cripps, Hill, Lecras, Schofield and Wellingham plenty of downhill skiers
-
Quite simply Roosy thank you for saving the club that I love

My thoughts exactly got ahead of ourselves thinking turning up was all that was required today. Blues haven't buried us yet but I doubt we can turn our attitude and intensity around enough at halftime. It's all part of becoming a good team week in week out.
-
The boys were on notice last week having be unreliable in backing up after big wins. Another challenge this week agaisnt the Blues because should they relax they will be vulnerable. Not even thinking finals at this stage, happy with the progression and IAH as the old cliche goes not getting ahead of myself and just focussed on beating teh Blues this week, before moving on
