  1. The MFC has had some great sucess with mature age recuits in recient times and just looking over our list at present, I count 12 mature age players on our main or supplemtry lists as of the post season recruiting period. The list (largely per my memory) is per the below; Austin Bradtke Bayley Fritsch Mitch Hannan Marty Hore Declan Keilty Corey Maynard Joel Smith Timothy Smith Aaron vandenBerg Corey Wagner Josh Wagner Guy Walker Interested in people's opinions on: 1. Who would be the best player on the list based on AFL performance to date; And; 2. Who has the potential to become the best recruit over the entirity of their career Arguably, Michael Hibberd and Neville Jetta could be included in the above list, but I've excluded them from the discussion on the basis that: A. Whilst Michael Hibberd was originally got his break in the game as a mature age player with Essendon, he was recruited to Melbourne as a well established, many would say elite player; B. Neville was originally recruited to the MFC directly from the elite U18 system in WA and whist he was relegated to the rookie list for a period, he never truly left being listed by the MFC and that environment. 2. I've mentioned him a few times already, so thought I'd give him his own thread seeing as I'm on a role. Mature age ruckman/forward has been around the WAFL scene with Claremont for a few years now (must have played with Hogan) and has had a breakout year this year. http://www.wafl.com.au/players/view/4672 Not bad numbers for a just turned 21 year old big man. Approx 2 goals, 6 marks, 12 possessions, 13 hit outs and 2 tackles a game. Fits the bill of what we need. I'd be willing to take him late in the national draft with our 4th round pick to make sure we get him rather then risk him being there in the rookie draft. He has Callum Sinclair written all over him from a few years back. Cameron could potentially play from Round 1 and go along way to fixing our structure issues with the forward/2nd ruck role. Brief description on him below re: his invite to the combine this year. Anyone seen much of him at WAFL level? Darcy CameronClaremont204cm/104kg18/7/95Cameron was overlooked at the 2013 NAB AFL Draft with a query on his pace and his consistency in competing. But he's improved those aspects of his game and presents as a mature-age tall who is able to play in the ruck and in attack. Cameron has enjoyed a solid season at WAFL level for Claremont.Darcy Cameron during the 2013 NAB AFL Draft Combine. Picture: Darrian Traynor
  3. Keen to get the opinion of some of our WA Demons about the above named Key Defender from West Perth http://www.wafl.com.au/players/view/4904 Turns 21 early next year and was named in the WAFL team of the year at Full Back. 194cm & 91kg he seems to produce pretty good numbers (19 touches, 5 marks & 3 tackles a game), and from what I hear has good aerobic capacity. In the likely event that Dunn is traded and with Garland''s poor form this year we wont have much depth in the key defensive steaks if one of T/O Mc or Frost go down. Wonder if Keitel is the sort of guy worth looking at in the rookie draft to help bolster our stocks for this reason?
