Gee, incidents like this make me hope that the world does indeed end in 2012! Humans have the capacity to both completely inspire me and disgust me.

I think four is a little harsh, but keep in mind he actually got less it was his poor record and not accepting a guilty plea that lifted it to four. Not sure why he had to jump at a player who was receiving a handball, should have just tackled him. Had he stayed on the ground, probably a non-event but he jumped and made head high contact.

Another insipid performance and loss coming up. Neeld will need a much better 2013 otherwise I reckon his career as a senior coach will be brief.

Play Jack Viney at Casey in '13 so we get picks 3 & 4.

I think the idea that "it work's - in theory - but so does communism" sums up this thread well. Cudos to RR for putting the idea out there, but it would be a stupid decision for mine. -

As I've said elsewhere, Viney will be in the red and blue next year, make no mistake about it.

I want us to win at all cost, not lose at all costs.

Green used to kick for goal as good as anybody. Now, his concersion rate would be lucky to be at around 50%. I can possibly understand this for 40-50m kicks, as he may be compensating accuracy for the extra distance (is harder to kick at distance as you age and the body tires). However, he has many shots from 20-30m out which any person who has at least some experience kicking an AFL footy should be able to slot.

Pretty happy with the endevour to come back and not roll over and get thumped by 80+. Some costly turnovers hurt and some terrible umpiring from both sides. We looked dangerous at times whilst we were fumbly and overused it at others. Once we inject a bit more midfield class and a small forward we will be better off. Beaten by the premier team in the comp. today but not disgraced (except 1st quarter and first 5 minutes of fourth).

There is some good stuff to read in the papers after all ..,

The media are obviously an important part of the wider AFL landscape, but the majority of the loosely defined journalists are little more than blood-sucking parasites. -
Never ventured to 'ology - this site and Big Footy is enough as it is.

He clearly played on, it was just horrible timing. Siren sounds a little earlier, he has the set shot. A little later and he gets the kick from his play on. They were 47 points down at 3 quarter time, they were never going to win it - a great comeback nonetheless.

Let's see how we go against the Pies this week. Was the game against Essendon the cliched 'we've had enough and will make one stand' game, or is it a sign of a more determined and united outfit going forward?
-
Yeah, I can't really defend it beyond saying that it is more acceptable and safe then throwing things etc.
-
I certainly did, but fortunately this was in the privacy of my own lounge room in front of my confused fiance.

I think it was this point in the game where my frustration lead to me dacking myself. I've had to work hard to let out my frustration and anger in more appropriate (i.e., less aggressive) ways.

Loved him in the centre, his performance in the fourth quarter was outstanding.
-
Probably a silly call but I am certainly in the same group who can see this kids talent but am concerned about his lack of desire to put his body on the line. He looked scared of Bootsma in the third quarter, and Bootsma is about 45kg.

Yep, surely cannot blame him for his decision now. Perhaps the way he went about it, but he took a significant pay rise to play for a club that is showing a lot more promise than us at the moment.

I'd be very welcome to the idea of having Ling mentor our midfield group.

I have a family dinner that starts at 7.30 and will drag me away from the pain. Will be cheering them on though really, and just hope they continue to take steps in the right direction.

Neeld has a three year contract. I am more than willing to give and the new coaching staff until the end of the 2014 season to show they are the right people for the job. Neeld only came in late last year too, I am sure he will make many more list related decisions at the end of this season too.

The chances of the MFC winning a premiership seem even more distant with the arrival of free agency. Not particularly a club with a lot of $ to throw around, and not entirely enticing to come to either.

It's probably been explained, but why this obsession with comparing our current tally with that of StKildas?
