  1. Hope he is back in Melbourne soon and the club helps him through this process as much as they can.
  2. I am assuming this is a members deal. Seeing a I live in the sticks, does it also apply to Austar?
  3. Poor form from the club really. They continually badger supporters to jump on board as a member, even those who cannot afford it, yet they cannot offer a Sydney based support a cap instead of a scarf with their membership pack.
  4. Ha ha ha, Melbourne will not land Pendlebury. No way in hell.
  5. Totally agree; really need to win a few out of Richmond, North, Bulldogs, Saints, Essendon, and Sydney.
  6. Certainly positive signs, but I certainly agree with the "wait until the real season starts" mantra. We definitely had more eagerness to win the contested ball, and some of our rookies have been relevations so far. It has been a good pre-season thus far as we've been competetive and had no major injuries (touching wood). Look forward to seeing how we go against the highly fancied Hawks.
  7. I think we are going in with a very inexperienced side, with many of our best 22 (Molonely, Grimes, Clark, Trengove, Jurrah etc) rested or injured.
  8. We always seem to have terrible luck in the pre-season. It is an absolutely painful few months before the H&A season starts. And we are now without Jurrah for at least a month too. Bleh.
  9. A good call mate. Hindsight is, as they say, a beatuiful thing. The games were played in horrible conditions and there were plenty of good signs. This Saturday against the pies will be more interesting.
  10. Yeah, he was largely MIA but I am still confident we will see a big year from Jack.
  11. This really could be anything, with a few 50/50 games that could easily go either way: Richmond, Saints, Bulldogs, Essendon. I'd be happy with 4-7, given the draw.
  12. Really Impressed with Bate tonight
  13. Gameplan = bomb the ball and hope for the best
  14. Tynan and manger were great and I was pleased with Clarke. They were horrible conditions, some more experience in next game is welcomed.
  15. I didn't want to come on with an MFCSS attitude but that was not a performance that inspires hope
  16. Ha ha ha, funny stuff. Talking in front of a camera is quite hard. I tutor and lecture at uni, and it doesn't bother me much at all. When I was filmed doing an introduction (for an online unit, hence being filmed), I found it quite tough! I 'spose it is a matter of practice I suppose.
  17. I was watching on Friday night and it dropped out quite a few times, though a refresh got the video stream back quickly. I watched for about 90 minutes on Saturday night (GWS, Collingwood, WB) and it only cut out once. Also watched about 20 minutes last night with no problems. I should note that it automatically cuts out after 60 minutes as you can only stream in 60 minute blocks for some reason, even though you can start streaming straight away. The vision is only so/so, can be difficult to make out the numbers on the count down timer at times, although it was much better last night with the Ess v WC v Freo game. Overall, I think it is worth the $50 for the entire season, which includes match summaries, press conferences and so on. It's a shame you cannot replay games and can only watch them live though.
  18. It is a flawed concept but it is only a pre-season cup, nothing more than a glorified practice match really!
  19. I watched the match highlights from Melbourne vs. GC from last year that was on the site still, and it was a pretty ordinary picture. I am hoping that the new games for this year will be better quality, considering they are asking us to pay for it. Edit: just watched the current game on afl.tv (Geel vs. Syd) and it is watchable, but I am hoping the quality is improved once the 2012 season starts. Still good value for $50.
  20. Right now, I'd put both Trengove and Martin ahead of Scully, but that's just at the moment. Scully had the knee problems last year and issues of knowing he would jump ship at the end of the year. Giving that these two problems (perhaps the former, definitely the latter) should no longer plague him, he should have the capacity to play at this best more this year compared to last year. We do, however, have to take into account the inexperience of the GWS team, which could go against him. Give it 10 years time and we'll be able to make a much more informed judgement about these three players. I am sure they will all be excellent in any case.
