  1. Would have thought that we'd be well backed to win against Brisbane in what should be a reasonably close game. Considering we have a whole new coaching outfit and a (presumably) new game plan, anything could happen I guess. Being at the G', I think we'll win by about 28 points. I will certainly be there anyway!
  2. I just paid for the season pass, so will let you know after I watch a match this weekend. I do think it only works on 3G though, as I went to watch a press conference from last year before (that was on the site) and it wouldn't stream it when I was on WiFi, but worked immediately when I turned of WiFi. It is unmetered though, and the streaming speed was really good. Will have a better idea this weekend though!
  3. Most dissapointing aspect of pre-season reports is the lack of information on Col, and the fact that he has spent much of his time in the rehab group. A player with so much potential, but offer seems to be just going through the motions. We just resigned him to a new contract, so I am hoping he can put 100% into each and every game from now until end of 2013 season, where we will have a good idea of where he stands.
  4. I have a 3G/WiFi iPad with a pre-paid Telstra account. More information about this service is available here: http://www.telstra.com.au/latest_offers/afllive/?ti=TR:TR:Jan12:afl:corporatehome:banner You can access one game for $5, a monthly pass for $10 (first month free) or the season pass for $50 and it is unmetered.
  5. I am also with Telstra and have an iPad, so am very interested in this season pass.
  6. Definietly time to put his own health ahead of the club. It is now time for the club to repay the tremendous amount of time, energy, and passion Jim has given the club, particularly considering the battles he has had to take on.
  7. I'm going to trust the decidedly new coaching staff to make the right decision. It certainly isn't an easy or obvious one though.
  8. I don't think the ladder will change to much from this year to be honest, at least in terms of groups of teams (i.e., those who will probably top 4, those who will be 5-8 and so on). I am just interested and excited to see how the Dee's go under Neeld (and all the other new staff).
  9. The tackle at 52 seconds is much more likely to cop a few weeks!
  10. Didn't we learn anything from this season about penciling us in for wins? Anything could happen with this bloody club. That said, four out of the last five games are very winnable coming into the finals. Gold Coast, GWS, Adelaide (home), and Saints (MCG) before Fremantle away in final round. I really don't know what to expect from the club in 2012, so we will just wait and see.
  11. Apparently Max Gawn has let it slip (I am assuming via Twitter) that Green will be captain for Australia in the IR games. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl Check the Twitter feed, apparently announcement to come at 1pm today.
  12. Sydney to be on top of ladder after round 1, pencil that in. :D
  13. I was thinking that we should trade Clark, is it too late to do so?

    Best 22

Geez, we have a good 22 on paper, really should perform much better then we did at times in 2011. Hopefully we see each and every player improve next year, creating a situation where getting into the 22 is a task in and of itself. Don't want to see players in [censored] form get a game automatically due to lack of competition.
  15. I, too, am unlikely to make it. Have a birthday on Sunday that I 'must' attend. You know, one of those birthdays I didn't even consider when I put my hand up to play/help [due to it not even crossing into my conscious awareness], but was swiftly reminded of just a few days a go by the missus. Best of luck to all involved though, and let us hope we see Demonland win a few games. Will be keen to read impressions etc.
  16. I don't think he will kick a heap of goals and be the messiah for the club, but he will form an important part of the game plan and structures for the side. Makes a huge difference having a 200cm 100kg+ person in the forward line, and this will show next year.
  17. "His club does NOT have the right to match the presented offer, and the player can move AUTOMATICALLY to the new club of his choice." This applies to a couple of different scenarios. How is it fair that a club is not allowed to try to match an offer from a rival club?
  18. He did sign a four year contract, so hopefully that at least keeps him there for that period at least!
  19. Neeld would have had a big say in this no doubt, and he obviously has a vision for the club that would benefit from the addition of Clark. Now, whether Clark can fulfil that position is yet to be seen, but I trust the MFC in their decision to go after Clark. Looking forward to 2012 a great deal.
  20. According to the article on mfc.com, the recruiting team played strongly to get one of the picks, but they had decided before hand on a price they would not pay. It came to that and they stuck to their guns, walking away from the day rather then paying overs. Time will tell I guess, should we have thrown everything at one of the picks, or was it the correct decision to back away.
