think its on @ 8.30 pm in WA? (after better homes and gardens...)

I believe he hasnt lied to date too, but that doesnt mean that he wont stay or wont go. He's making his decision at the end of the year, which is why the people saying 100% gone or 100% staying are guessing.
-
intersting that Wolfmother started that thread and used 6mil over 6 years as the "hypothetical" contract value! This isn't a thread about any one in particular player but if one of our said gun player performs out of site and was offer 6 mil over 6yrs would you begrudge him for taking it considering Davey is probably our highest paid on about 600K?? haha

I’m keeping the faith, but people saying smokes and mirrors are kidding themselves. Where there is smoke there is generally fire. GWS are (or have been) keen on Scully. The figures might be right, they might be wrong, but they have obviously made some sort of play for him. Velocity may have "shouldered arms" (to use a cricketing analogy) and said come back to us at the end of the year, but they would have thrown around hypothetical offers at some point to get the types of rumours which we’re seeing. I actually kind of enjoy all of the drama and innuendo, but people saying he's gone or "its all smokes and mirrors" he’s not going anywhere are both guessing. Hurry up end of season!

i agree, if he shows that kinda influence at AFL level it'll be great for us!

Me either. The only logical explanation behind targeting Scully/Ward etc(and ive heard Conca was even offered big bucks) is that they see a draft as a gamble in some respects. Yes you pick who you think will be the best player, but after a year in the system you can make a fair assumption on whether selection was a good one or not. GWS must have very little eye on short term success and a big eye on a flag in ~5 years time so therfore want to spend money on players who will still be playing when their super draft are also ripe? They are also covering themselves in the case that they pick a few duds in the draft by having a back up of younger stars? After seeing Gold Coast largley struggle, even with Gazza and a few other decent older players, GWS will be like a lamb to slaughter if the above logic is correct. But surley it is along the lines of what they must be going for, becasue if the amount of money they are talking about is right then they couldnt afford a real marquee player on top of the millions being offered to these younger blokes???

When he did his press conference i was so convinced he was staying that i got a new jumper with 31 on the back. The longer this plays out the more of a distant memory that day becomes, but if you go back and re watch the interview or re read his quotes its impossible to say he's going unless hes a blatant lier, which is somthing im lead to believe he is not. If he goes then his integrity is shot (at least from a MFC / supporter / team mates perspective), and if he stays then some people in the media who are spreading this 100% gone crap should be given a big please explain.

best thing about trengove is that when he's lining up for a set shot you can start adding 6 points to our score... Great kicking technique IMO
-
i put money on him to finish in the top 3 in the charlie after round 1! haha it was great to see him and Jamar pick up where they left off at center bounces like it was just business as usual!
-
yeah that was great, if only jurrah had slotted it through. a tigers fan infront of us remarked "i dont rate the melbourne football team, but the melbourne volley ball team are awesome!" haah
-
I just checked and yeah you're right it was Nahas! haha my bad still loved seeing a bloke who many say doesnt provide a contest or do enough 1%ers prove some skeptics wrong.
-
That was the exact passage of play which made me start this thread. Long kick in, up the guts. A tallish tiger the marking target. Little #7 made a great spoil. Crubs fall to gisberts, hands to trengove and BANG, goal. All started by a little bloke who gets ragged on this site for shirking contests.
-
haha Cant believe all the hate about a decent footy ground, yes its no MCG but you've all obviously never been to the hell hole formally known as Subiaco Oval?!! The only negative think i could say about Ethihad as someone who doesnt get the pleasure of going to the G every couple of weeks is that when the roof is shut and theres only a small crowd in, the crowd' scheers sound like those from a primary school swimming carnival.

gold. Trengove layed a great running / diving tackle too

I made the trip over to watch the game on Saturday. 1st time ive seen the boyus win Live for a while (Been a lean streak at Subi for the last few years!) I thought Bennell had his best game of the year against the Tigers. He only had 10 disposals but he didnt shirk contests and used the ball well the few times he got it. When the tigers looked liek they might challenge he made a good spoil which resulted in a goal. HE shouldnt be discussed in the Ins/Outs this week. Morton on the other hand was the worst Sub in recent memory!

agreed to put the thread back on topic i hope he'll come back to the club before the season is out on the back of watching the boys play port at the top end and the extended time away refreshing him and giing him time to mourn properly.

my quote; The question that remains unanswered is whether Scully is loyal or whether he'll take the cash. Lots of good reasons both for and against, but the longer the whole thing plays out the more likley it is that money is a major factor for him. I never said the longer the whole thing plays out the more likley it is that Scully will go to GWS. IMO the only thing gained by not putting pen to paper now is a better offer from melbourne, which would indcate that money is a major factor for him when making his decison. Thats not to say that he might have to comprimise after weighing up all factors, and decide to stay with the dee's. The reasons it is slightly concerning for me though, is that if money plays any more than a minor factor in his decision then he coudnt posibly pass up the $$ that GWS are offering. You may niot agree with my logic but there you go Also, do you log out and back sign in as Artie?! - becasue you fellas seem to come to each others side every time there is any sort of disagreement on opinions at demonland!
-
spot on. A player will either be loyal or he will go where the better money is. I dont think there's much grey area here. The question that remains unanswered is whether Scully is loyal or whether he'll take the cash. Lots of good reasons both for and against, but the longer the whole thing plays out the more likley it is that money is a major factor for him.

When i spoke to Jack Grimes earlier in the year he basically said scully wouldnt leave becasue he was a mummy's boy (not in those words). He said from his perspective Scully was very happy at the dees, and that he couldnt imagine that he'd go to GWS for any amount of money, becasue he gets homesick and loves his family too much - he left the china trip because he was homesick so he'd struggle moving to NSW.
-
I'm flying accross for this game (subject to ash cloud!). Really keen to see if the boys can back up last weeks effort.

Richmond Away G WIN Doggies Away ES Loss Port Home TIO WIN Hawks Home G LOSS Gellong Away Skilled LOSS Carlton Away G LOSS Eagles Home ES LOSS Richmond Home G WIN Port Away AAMI WIN the only winable games IMO are against port and tigers (both times). We struggle big time against teams who play with a full press, and thats why we wont beat the Eagles, even at the G Might jag a win aginst the Dogs, would be confident if it was at the G

totally agree, breath of fresh air to have a reliable player in our 50m arc. Watts is becoming reliable and sylvia is spending time in attack. We're starting to look the goods up there again also great profile pick. Vampira \m/

Would love to see Dustin Martin try to fend off Bull and get smashed!
