Its pats on the back all round???? WTF? Only players who really get a negative write up is Jurrah and Juice? Link: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/115120/default.aspx

i was happy to see them put the heat on the players. They didnt whack sylvia that badly. If any thing i think Roos was trying to say that hes a better player at a half forward flank / more attacking position than on the ball? The small clip which showed Sylvia giving judd 5m was used to demonstrate the types of things that coaches cant control. I.e. Bailey can put sylvia on Judd, but at the end of the day its up to sylvia to mark him closley.

Jones - improved player. i, like many, had written him off for alot of his short comings but he's working hard at becoming a decent player for us Tapscott - Not overly flashy but gets the job done, wish we had more like him Evans - probably too early to really discuss, but great debut Bail - until injured was probably one of the most improved players on the list Maric - Been impressed with some of his games. Looks a decent player who just needs to have confidence in his ability at this level Martin - Probably a bit out of his depth playig as the #1 ruck, but was impressed at his ability to play the 2nd ruck / chop out with Jamar.

i read this on Dustin Martin's twitter - "PGA comp at my joint. Axel/Chotch v 'Lids/Sculls v JR8/Whitey.. Boys pumped for tomoz."

if we want sudden on field change we need to make it off field too. The bombers culled their FD and packed it full of proven coaching talent. If we want dramatic changes we'll need to do the same. I really like Chirs Connoly, but in my opinion he seems like a bloke that shouldnt be able to look his boss in the eye when he recieves his pay check! I could well be out of line there, but please someone tell me what he does? He's great for spreading to good word about the club and the history and the young players who will deliver for us, but what value does he actually give the coaching department? Hate to say it, but same goes for Viney... Seems like alot of ex-palyers / mates of Jimmy get jos at the club because they're good blokes, not becasue they are good at what they do neccesarily?

I think Morton will come good, and i agree with Akum's post. I can see him being a good tall winger, kinda like Embley for West Coast.

Soccer & Hockey etc have been using the press as a vital part of defence for years. Best way to counter a press is with quick and precise passing, which is probably easier said than done in AFL than it is in soccer or hockey. Generally pressing leaves you open to be hurt on the fast break / counter attack as your defence are less likley to be marking the deep opposition forwards man on man

Supporters Group - Expressions of Interest and Queries
DemonWA replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
2 confusing statements IMO Why contact the club at all if you dont want anything from them? is the 2nd quote supposed to read "I know not many of you are'nt AFL Members but the point of it is that it's a supporter group FOR AFL members, so having it anywhere besides AFL Members would defeat its purpose?? and finally, seems like a pretty crap idea. If you want to hang with melbourne fans, get a club membership. If you want to continue to sit with AFL members then be happy being out numbered? -
good luck to him. He's got plenty to offer

if these players are going to get more physical then it'll be a mental change. I actually dont think it matters if they play 1 game or 5 for casey, they're either going to make the change or theyre not. Hopefully they have.

Judd & Murphy - Nicholson, Mkenzie or Jones Gibbs - Petterd or Jetta

I dont care if our elevated rookies are better than our top picks aslong as they are good quality. Glad to see people are getting elevated from casey on form not name or reputation. Heard a stat the other day that there are more ex rookie listed players on current lists than player taken over pick 40 in the draft. Blease and strauss were taken much earlier than 40 though!

Carlton dilemma over Brock McLean's spot against Melbourne
DemonWA replied to Demon Property's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hate watching him try to "blow through a pack" and getting pinged holding the ball!! haha Jones is spending more time on the wing which would probably be the reason for his reduced tackle and clearance count? -
The western demons supporter group were asked to take them to the demons/eagles game earlier this year. I didnt bother, but a few did. They had none of the desired effect becasue the stadiums lights are so bright. I'm tipping it'll be the same at the G. AC/DC concert was different because aside from the lights on the stage the entire stadium was in darkness.

I think even Jim doesnt know if he's been told the truth! Hasnt Jim come out and said these new concessions for GWS/GC is forcing players to lie etc?
-
I agree with your post but Jolly was'nt one of our better players.... which is why he left. He would have been our #1 ruck eventually but didnt want to hang around until Jeff White was past it!
-
Are you serious? He's not superman? half done? A Half done Scully would be no better than any of the other midfield options IMO

Carlton dilemma over Brock McLean's spot against Melbourne

Jones is young, coachable, passionate and has 100 games to his name already. He's 23. He's a keeper. People mark him hard becasue he doesnt have the excuse/extra time afforded to skinnier blokes. People around here are happy to stick with guys like Watts, Bennel, Strauss for years and years but want to trade a 23 year old showing consistant improvement -
The hamstring injury to Bull Tapscott is another blow to a team struggling for consistency in performance, and continuity on the team sheet. Although the injury list is starting to resemble something similar to a whos-who of the Demons playing group, this should allow more of the demons much hyped younger brigade to have a crack at senior level. The debut of young “pickles” Evans last week left me with a strange feeling. On one hand we have uncovered another promising young midfielder with a rookie selection, but on the other hand what type of a blight is it on the more senior players when an elevated rookie shows them up? Dean Bailey is in a difficult situation. The debut of Evans would have left him wondering whether there are others at Casey who may shine if given an opportunity on Friday night. He will however understand that blooding more youngsters and putting in admirable performances for defeats will not satisfy those still calling for his head. With a very difficult draw for the next month, Bailey will be wanting to show the footy viewing public that he can coach by creating an upset or two, and he will be no doubt struggling with the decision on whether injecting more of the enthusiasm of youth into an already young team is the right way to go about trying to achieving consistency from the playing group . Restless demons supporters have been patient for the last few years whilst the club rebuilt our list, but since the NAB cup its been clear that the rebuild is still a work in progress. There are many fans like myself who would be happy to continue to blood our youngsters so that we have a better idea of what they can or can’t do, but you get the feeling that Bailey may persevere with the older group for a while yet, if only in an attempt to save his own career. Carlton also rebuilt their list with top draft picks, but topped it off with the addition of a then Brownlow medallist and premiership captain, one C. Judd. Even with this depth of talent the Blues have been regarded as underachievers in recent years. It is only now, 3 years since the drafting of Kreuzer, and 5 years since drafting Murphy that the Blues are proving to be a real contender. Inpatient Demons fans should perhaps consider this when making assessments on when the Melbourne Football Club should reasonably expect to be in a similar position. This being said, not yet being a legitimate contender does not make the Demons exempt showing a bit of heart and coming out to play. With the prematch entertainment being a fundraising effort for cancer you cannot discount the influence that a pre match address given by Jimmy could have on the players, however i’m expecting an admirable loss, not dissimilar to the performance against last years runners-up last round. Blues by 23 points

In: Blease Out: Tapscott (inj) reading the player review on the MFC site it seemd like the coaches were least happy with petterd?

Getting rid of Moloney or Jones is a bad idea IMO. Last thing we need to do is get rid of more of our leaders/experience. -

Mclean wanted out, i dont see how the MFC should take any credit for the trade? Also, a fit brock Mclean would probably be getting a game for us at the moment -
SOme of the posts in here are a joke!! If a big fish from another club (im thinking like when Judd left west coast) is on the trade table then i think we need to make a play for them. Otherwise treat all offers on their merit. I cant see many of our players asking to be traded or any of the ones we might want to delist being worth anything? Our list is almost at the point where we need to give them continuity, not keep adding young players in the hope they'l lbe better than the current group
